Dr. Evans has helped me to see things differently. If you listen to him with an open mind and consider that maybe you don't need to be right all of the time, you can improve your relationships. My marriage is better because of him but you have to put the effort in as well. Listen and try doing what he says. It works!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Dr Evans was punctual and engaging. His psychological acumen is quite impressive and he is direct and to the point. No whining and hand holding here! I have seen him for many years and he is always on his game and extremely insightful! I would very highly recommend Dr Tim Evans to anyone looking to improve their mental health!!!

Dr. Evans is the “real deal”. If you want to have a more fulfilling life by breaking free of unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving, he is the therapist to see. It is true he is very direct, but in my opinion this is necessary to inspire the courage it takes to make essential changes in ones life. In a short period of time, these sessions have been life changing for me. I’m thankful that I met Dr. Evans. He will not waste your money or your valuable time. I can’t say many therapists are worth the cost per hour, but Evans most definitely will give you your money’s worth! Highly recommend.

I’ve been thinking about writing this review for years, and I finally have the self confidence to do it. Tim is the reason I have sworn to myself I will never go to another therapy session with any therapist ever again. I’ve talked with many friends who have gone to therapy about him and they all have said he took the wrong approach. Within the first five minutes he implied my parents did a poor job of raising me. They have been nothing but supportive and respectful with me, so I definitely took offense to this. I came in for direction in a career path, and all I remember is him saying that if I don’t figure things out quickly, I’m going to die alone (I was 27 at the time, which is a bit early to be telling someone that). It got worse from there. I was under the understanding that all MDs took an oath to do no harm. Well, Dr. Evans has clearly violated that and after reading reviews from so many people he's hurt I'm baffled as to why he still has his license.

My husband and I went to see Dr. Evan on a recommendation from a good friend as we were dealing with a crisis. I wish I would have looked at all of Dr. Evans terrible reviews BEFORE going to see him. He was boarderline abusive, condescending, and mean. He pitted my husband and I against each other instead of helping to bring us closer together. DO NOT go to him for any type of counseling. He should not have a counseling license. He has serious issues himself.

Horrible experience and will not be returning. He used profanity to describe how he counsels other couples, barely let us get a word in, adamant that he's not here to give coping strategies and added more tension that we arrived with. He also assured us that he's not everyone's cup of Tea so he was okay if we didn't return. Very unprofessional... beware if you're at rock bottom.. go somewhere else!!

Like so many others, I wish I'd seen these reviews before seeing Dr. Timothy Evans. I was with an abusive spouse and we tried couples counseling with Dr. Timothy. I saw him 1 time and after 15 minutes of interacting, he told me I am controlling and causing all the problems in my marriage. No one has ever called me controlling in my life. He cut me off many times and asked me not to speak, belittled me, judged me harshly, and claimed he wasn't going to argue with me and that I'm a combative person when I told him he's being mean and I felt criticized by his approach. I can handle constructive criticism, but I just felt attacked by him. This honestly made my relationship issues much worse for a long time. We still divorced.

Dr Evans has helped me so much in my life. I honestly feel I would be in such a negative place if I had not met him. I understand why people on these reviews have taken things personally. Dr Evans does not sugar coat, I find this beneficial because I went to him to become a better person. By him not sugar coating, it allows me to understand and know exactly what I need to work on. He is a very nice and caring person but he will give you tough love.

Do not waste your money on therapy with Tim. Big mistake. He may look qualified on paper or take your insurance but buyer beware! There are a lot of other professional and ethical therapist in Tampa Bay.

Dr Evans told me that i should leave my husband and get myself into therapy. He said he didnt care if we came back again or not (even when we didnt say anything to him (?)) and was shaking his leg like crazy while we were in there. It was the most bizzare experience we ever encountered. We went in there to get help with our marriage and we walked out with go find anotherTherapist and for me to leave my husband.. umm no! Run run run away from this doc!

Totally agree, wish we’d seen these reviews before booking an appt. On approx 10 words of answers he allowed (in our 2 short sessions) Tim provided a sarcastic monologue making cute references to psychological modalities (to show how smart he is) and a contemptuous, antagonistic critique of judgmental vomit for us to consider. What a joke. And this guy overseas new students? Shameful. Run away as fast as you can. This guy is harmful to good mental health.

This session was border-line abusive. He spent the hour not listening to anything I said and making quick judgements. Anytime I would disagree and say that characterization is not accurate and elaborate he would cut me off and say he was not going to debate me. What debate – his job is to listen and assess and provide constructive feedback not condescending remarks. He told me I was the problem and that I wasn’t open to suggestions. He belittled me and made me doubt my abilities as a parent

If I could rate him a negative, I would. If you’re interested in hearing an overgrown man’s arrogant, insulting, one-sided, insensitive and insecure opinion masquerading cowardly behind the word “psychology” by all means enjoy your time with him. I feel sorry for anyone who has ever seen him as their first POC with any therapy session as no doubt his negativity and blaming behavior ruined them. He was distracted by his own texts during our meeting his views on therapy border liable and criminal

Combative, Divisive, Cruel, Arrogant, Angry. If those are the traits you are looking for in a therapist, he is the man for you. Check out his background when he lost his job as a professor. His track record as a professional is consistently awful.

Worst therapist I’ve ever dealt with. He tried to convince me I was the entire problem in my relationship...not the controlling and abusive guy I was with. He would yell at me, belittle me and tried to tell me to quit my job and move away from my family business. I’m not sure who was worse, my abuser or my therapist. After a few sessions, my self worth was destroyed and it took me years to get it back. Got rid of the guy and the therapist and couldn’t be happier. He dangerous!!!

If I could give this man a zero I would. I came in today to deal with a dramatic experience I had at work and he was rude and cut me off several times. He told me that he doesn’t deal on logic only psychology and basically made me feel like I was wasting his time. I only wanted someone to listen to what I feeling and he could have cared less. Everyone it’s a doctor just because that have the title.

I wanted to take My time to really put a comment here. I was looking for a doctor with a PH D ( which is actually really hard) through my provider and was really skeptical because of the reviews I read. I have a psychologist I use to go to but couldn’t keep going because of the hours. I got a new job. So my bf and I went because we want to get married and have been having problems. This doctor is FRICKIN AMAZING!!! He is very direct and that is why he gets bad reviews. He is really really good

I would never recommend this therapist to anyone. He was rude and used bad language. He was condescending. If I tried to talk, he would interrupt me. He never took the time to even get to know me before he tore into me. He seemed very angry in general. I wonder if he hates his job or life. I felt no compassion or encouragement. I felt attacked the entire time I was there.
