Tom Gates II

I had seen him for a few months almost a year, our appointments were rushed. He never seemed like he was actually paying attention during our brief conversation and gave advice that was never beneficial. So, I never felt comfortable opening up to him and I tried, once because I thought I should have given it a chance. I opened up about something traumatic that occurred, not a slight ounce of genuine empathy. He gives off this snarky, judgmental attitude and tends to overcomplicate things. Which is unfortunate because my family was paying out of pocket to see him. I told them and my other therapist he makes me uncomfortable. My therapist said just talk to her instead. Fast forward, preface strong divide with me and toxic parents. I had a meeting with my therapist who is working with gates, parents sit me down and want to talk to me about trying to commit me because 'my providers' are worried about me being angry. I was floored, like why would my 'providers' gates included never mention

He kept me waiting significantly past our appointment time on two occasions. This despite the fact that I told him that I have severe health issues right now, namely my fibromyalgia, that put an extra strain on me when my sleep is interrupted; and I have to do any activity for a prolonged period of time. He told me that he occasionally goes over appointment time with clients, and he does not even apologize or acknowledge that fact that doing that can negatively affect his other clients. Besides this, he did not even bother to go over the details of a medicine he was prescribing to me, so trusting him, I went ahead and paid for it, only to find out I had serious concerns about it. He also insisted on putting me through more to get a different medication than necessary, and kept me waiting three days when I stated that my need was time sensitive. Lastly, he abruptly discharged me as his patient when his ego was offended, and made false accusations against me as an excuse.
