I am an established glaucoma patient of approximately 2 years . There has always been issues with billing and the filing of insurance. At the conclusion of my Sep. 3rd appointment, I was presented with a bill in the amount of $175.00 for contact lens consultation. ( Other than being asked by Dr. Tevis “ Are you in need of contact lenses today “ ) there was no inquiry or request for anything regarding contact lenses . I was charged with this unnecessary and unrequested service and told it needed to be taken care of today . Beware of unnecessary test on outdated equipment and charges for unrelated services .

Urgent eye injury on Friday. He saw the patient who was undocumented and uninsured. He did not charge.

After cutting our vacation short and coming back into town early to make our scheduled appointments, we were called at 10AM the day of the appointments (three hours before the appointment) to tell us our appointments were canceled because the doctor was out of town. (Based on comments from his staff, likely extending his own vacation.) Super unprofessional! Have since found another provider and Dr. Tevis can stay on vacation. The cancellation of the appointments cost us significantly and all we received was rude staff informing us of the cancellation.

I went in today is a new patient to received my yearly eye exam. I noticed the two ladies working the front desk were not wearing a mask but I’ll let that go and continued to do the check in. While I was giving in my insurance information, I very politely ask if the technician and the doctor would wear a mask during my exam. The receptionist very rudely and with a annoyed look on her face said “absolutely not.” I then heard who I think was the doctor yell from the back room something about we don’t believe in masks! I promptly asked for my paperwork back and left.

Great Optometrist. I would def. recommend him to anyone looking for a trust worthy Eye Physician that cares about their patient concerns.
