'That's the Unknown'
Telehealth
I have a family history of ADHD going back to the '80s. It is genetic. I was diagnosed with it & treated for 4 years, then fell off during COVID. During my 1st session I told him I need help w/ setting goals and being accountable. 2nd session he forgot/misremembered things abt the week prior. I told him my issue with executive dysfunction (used by my prior therapists). He did not understand what it is and told me it's a social issue. A quick online search shows it is more than that. I requested tools for helping me get started on difficult tasks. He told me 'Imagine a door. Now imagine a trash can in front of the door. Just go around it.' I asked for specific tools & he said 'that's the unknown - sorry I can't help more.' For $120 a session I expect more than 'that's the unknown'. I need tools that actually help me. Maybe if you don't have ADHD this person will help you more.
