Meh. She was smiley and encouraging. But she would often just say phrases that she thought I should say in my interactions with people in my life. I would just sit there wondering what that was supposed to mean. Am I supposed to go home and say her words? They weren't things I would or could say, so how am I supposed to proceed? INSTEAD, what would have really been helpful is 'why do you feel you can't address the situation like this?' That's where the real issue was. Her just saying what I she thought I should say in situations just made me feel bad that I couldn't come up with those words myself knowing I would never come up with those words myself. I was too new at therapy to help HER figure out how to help me. I thought that was her job. Anyway, I spent way too much time and money with her. Maybe that's helpful for some people but not me.

Ahh.... Not the worst therapist I've worked with. But she told me my partner "isn't a cheater". "I've been around a lot of cheaters and he isn't one". Well, sure enough, I was trying really hard to make things work here with him and he betrayed me again. Didn't dig deep enough for me. After this experience (after many previous therapists), I'm done with therapy. They collect a LOT of money and don't have to actually produce results or help me change. I'm done.
