Zoryana Thompson, PA-C

I saw Zoryana because I needed to see a GYN soon, and I didn't have a GYN at the time. I was glad they got me in soon. I have seen her about 3-4 times total. When she performed a uterine biopsy she did not follow the same procedure a previous Dr. did. She did not have me take any pain med prior to the procedure. Nor did she dilate my cervix. She just shoved the tube up through the cervix. That was very uncomfortable, but when she withdrew the biopsy tube she just ripped it out. It was so painful I screamed! She didn't even apologize! I should not have gone back, but I needed to have a BV test. At least I didn't let her use a speculum. She was vague and quiet in explaining what test she was doing. The test was not covered by my insurance company and now I owe a $870.00 lab bill. Most or all preferred Drs. I see will always call my insurance to make sure something is covered. Besides that she never ever smiles. One more thing, I know a Dr. who was injured by her.

I have had two yearly appointments with Zoryana, and both times she was professional, patient, and very considerate. She considered all my questions and was very gentle with both pap smears! She's a great PA!

Recently I called this office seeking help with a serious emergency gynecological condition. Though I had not seen Zoryana Thompson before, I was very grateful for this appointment--as my usual PA was out with Covid, and I was suffering a painful and serious emergency. I arrived for my appointment only to be told that she "refused" to see me. Someone in the office had told her that I had said I was "not comfortable seeing a PA." Which is patently incorrect. My usual GYN is a PA, and I've been delighted with my PA. Because she felt personally affronted, she unilaterally turned away a patient with an emergency infection that could have turned septic. Unconscionable.

Dr. Zoryana did not explain to me just how invasive the procedure would be. She said the pain would be similar to an IUD insertion. That was very, very wrong. I have never cried at the doctor's before until this visit and I was in agonizing pain for 14 hours after the procedure. I never, ever would have agreed to this without topical anesthetic, taking pain killers before I arrived and having someone pick me up after the appointment had I know how gut-wrenchingly painful it was going to be. I feel mislead and mistreated. The pain was ten times worse than the IUD insertion and removal I had. I will never allow another procedure like this to happen unless I am given a numbing agent.
