Horrible
I scheduled an appointment for my infant son. The Dr walked into the room and right away said that he doesn't see children under 1 year old. He said that my son was 'out of his scope of practice.' I told him why I was there, we ended up talking for probably 5 min, he said that he would provide me with a referral. Upon leaving they asked for payment of $115. I was so caught off guard that I paid it, but immediately thought it was some sort of mistake and of course they would refund it. After waiting weeks to hear back from the office manager, she said she spoke to the Dr and they would not be reversing the charge. There surely are legalities involved here. If my son was 'out of his scope of practice', he obviously wouldn't treat so there would be no charge. If the doctor feels that a 5 minutes conversation was 'treatment' warranting a $115 charge, then why is he treating patients out of his scope of practice?
