Rude Billing Person
Susan, the billing person, is rude and unprofessional. She lied, failed to file our claim with our insurance and said she would send us a claim form and we could do it ourselves, even though they are an in network provider. We were quoted a price and then billed a much higher price. We were told we were sent a statement outlining everything “a week and a half ago” only to find out it was never sent. Don’t hold your breath if you leave a message because you will wait over a week to get a call back. I recommend you go somewhere else because she clearly should not be in the healthcare business.

The Man is a Miracle!
I am almost two months into my new ability to see, after my last examination by Dr. Waterhouse. As these days have passed, my vision has gotten even sharper than it was since then. The details don't matter in a review, so I will get to the purpose of this acknowledgement. Dr. Waterhouse saved my vision! His remarkable skills, thoroughness, and evident caring for his patients are, in every way, exceptional. I most want to acknowledge his unconditional kindness. From the first meeting with him, Dr. Waterhouse made it a point to be reassuring and positive. His quirky sense of humor (he really should do stand-up comedy!) was delightful, and he explained what would happen and how I might be feeling following each procedure. The follow-up examinations with him left me hopeful and laughing on my way out the door. He was also kind and attentive to my wife, including her in each evaluation. I am grateful, Dr. Waterhouse for all that you gave of yourself on my behalf. Thanks, Miracle Man!

Very unprofessional office staff.
This office is the most difficult office to work with that I have ever known. They are rude and the person in charge of billing is the rudest. They know they are the only retina center in grand junction area, so they can behave badly towards customers. If we had an option to go elsewhere, I would in a heartbeat!

Rude and Lacks Empathy
This office has the most rude front desk staff of any provider that I've ever been to. Since they're the only practice in GJ that treats macular degeneration, they know that they can behave in a very unprofessional manner and get away with it. I have a 92 year old grandma with severe dementia who requires frequent visits to their office. They refuse to allow her medical POA to accompany her in their office. At her last appointment, she was visibly upset and confused, but they insisted that I wait in the car until her screening was complete. They assured me (and her) that it would only take 5-10 minutes. I checked on her after 25 minutes had gone by, and she still wasn't roomed and they were super rude when I inquired as to why. 45 minutes after her appointment time, she was finally placed in a room to see the doctor, but she was very upset & uncomfortable due to the wait. Dr. Harder is a nice man and very knowledgeable, but if I had an option, I would quit their practice in a second.

Patients Not Important
My Dad has seen them 2 times. The Dr stated that he needs to go to another facility to get a procedure done before they can do the procedure with them. My Dad has been to their office several times to get his file to take to the other facility. He was told that he could not have a copy of his file to hand carry over. So I called back to the Retina Center to try to help get things figured out. The first call they disconnected me so I called back. The second call they connected me to Susan who was extremely rude and said my Dad stuff was not an emergency so she would get to it when they can! Susan told me not to call back and they would send me a list of other facilities that can do what The Retina Center does! I would not recommend them for any procedure as they patients are not important to them!
