I had to have 2 covid tests within an 11 day span of one another. When they tested me, they tacked on 2 flu tests without my prior knowledge or consent. After testing, the NP offered to call and check on me which I naively assumed was a courtesy call. That was until I received the bill. Those phone calls cost me an additional $230, being billed to me as a "Level 3 Office Visit". Had I been informed that a those calls would incur an office visit charge, I would have politely declined. I wasn't given that option, just like I wasn't given the option to turn down a flu test. They did my daughter the same way. When she called to discuss, they told her to take it up with her insurance, they did nothing wrong. They are at best unethical and at worse, deceitful.
