Dr. Chen had been wonderful in person, but avoid this office at all costs. As a patient with a hematological emergency, the nurse and nurse practitioner absolutely refused to assist me by reaching out to my prescribing physician for approval to treat. I had seen Dr. Chen just one week ago, and was in the process of transferring my care entirely to her office, so you would think the staff would be more understanding in assisting with my issue. NP Amanda Sharek was incredibly rude on the phone to me, and she hung up on me after I asked her if they even cared about their patients - a question that seems fairly reasonable to ask when they were denying to assist in an emergency! Horrible bedside manner and a complete and utter lack of compassion and empathy. Quality care should extend beyond simply choosing which medicine to use and include a supportive staff. This is not that office.
