I have to have endoscopies once to twice a year. I have been seeing Dr. Snyder for years. He has been wonderful- always working with me. Even when I had no health insurance for a period of time he always put my wellbeing above my ability to pay. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday and it was as pleasant of an experience as something like that can be! The staff was so kind and put me at ease - my nurse Amy got me ready and really helped me not feel embarrassed or nervous. Then everyone from the anesthesiologist to the surgical team was kind and very professional. This is the only place I go and Dr Snyder is my gastroenterologist for life!

Billing mess and surprise bill after the fact
'The procedure itself was okay at this facility, but due to the billing code the company said they had to use, instead of a routine colonoscopy procedure (which insurance would have 100% covered,) Elms used the billing code for 'out patient surgery' so the full balance was not covered by my insurance company. My insurance company said the full balance would have been covered with no copay if the code was not 'out patient surgery.' What a mess. I have made numerous calls to my insurance company and also emailed and called Elms, and they say the original billing code is all they can do so I am stuck with a significant bill that they say will be going to collection.

Lifesavers
Dr. Judd Adelman is a real lifesaver. He has been my doctor for 25 years...he has followed my health concerns as if I was his only patient. He spotted potential cancer in a very early stage and got me to a specialist surgeon who removed the problem. Dr. Adelman is world class as far as I am concerned.

Elms Digestive Review
I have terrible anxiety with any doctor's visit and was especially nervous about having to have a colonoscopy procedure done. I had never been put under anesthesia before and was extremely nervous. I can not say enough about how pleasant my experience at Elms Digestive was. Dr. Goodear and his entire staff put me at such ease from my very first consult appointment all the way through to post procedure. They made what I was anticipating to be a horrible thing, an easy breezy, quick procedure. The whole team made me feel so comfortable and Dr. Goodear was so thorough and kind. I would recommend anyone who might be anxious about getting to the bottom of their GI issues and may be apprehensive, to go see Dr. Goodear and his team, I'm so relieved that I did!

BE CAREFUL... a test was ordered on my initial visit and denied by my insurance, then followed by a colonoscopy which was paid for. I feel the first test was appropriate, that is not my issue. It seems once this place has your money, they DO NOT SUPPORT the patient. I needed the office to help with the justification of the test that HE ordered, they kept repeating that all they could do is give me a copy of my medical record and pointed the finger at the lab that ran the test. NO HELP. I got the feeling that they "cattle herd" people thru colonoscopies, a quick and easy way to make a buck. Much more profitable than an office visit. There was not a lot of interest in figuring out my issue after that, just over the counter suggestions, then "goodbye" and on to the next. Terrible service, does not care about the patient

Although initial process and procedure went smoothly, follow-up was a nightmare. Initially, Dr. Snyder told us we'd have results within 8-10 days, and assured us that since my daughter was away at school, he would do a phone followup to discuss results. My daughter also gave authorization for me to be included in follow-up and receive test results if she was not available. over a month & many phone calls later, she received a brief call from the PA informing "you have a disease" vice "you have an allergy"! Being a high anxiety teen, and alone in her room when call came through, she was so blindsided by the diagnosis, that she couldn't respond immediately. Continued calls to a voicemail, requesting a follow up with Dr. Snyder went unanswered until she received a call back saying sorry, Dr. Snyder doesn't do phone appts! This was all over the course of a 2 month period. We will never recommend Elms to anyone and after explaining this to our health care provider, she won't either.
