Excellent with my mom for many years. Chris as well. (Delores Leary) was the patient and they had nothing but the highest respect for her. Many back surgeries, the last one fixed it all. Dr. Brown & Chris visited my mom in the hospital when she wasn't in their care for other health issues. What other Drs.can you say honestly do that. I hold the highest honor & respect to you Dr. Brown & Chris for treating my mom. Although she is no longer with us, as of 9/23/03, She did Brag about the both of you. Let me not forget Janet who gave me her personal phone # to call and she communicated with me. I just loved this team.

My 2nd C-spine fusion-office issues
My second C-spine surgery (C3-4) with Dr. Brown was totally different from my C4-7 fusion a couple of years ago. For one thing I wasn’t told that anything was wrong for 4 months after my MRI. I found out quite by accident after I had a checkup visit with the nurse practitioner. At the end of the appointment I casually asked if anyone found anything from the MRI that was done 4 months earlier. She was surprised and sounded as if she didn’t know about it. She left and came back very surprised that no one had contacted me and that Dr. Brown would be in to speak with me. He said I had to have another fusion due to a spur pressing on my spinal column and that’s why I was falling so much - 5 times in 5 weeks! There is obviously some kind of disconnect in the office. There were many other things that went wrong with this recovery but there is t enough room to list them all. His PA, Chris, wasn’t very empathetic and was a bit flip with me over reactions that were scaring me.Not very reassuring

I had cervical surgery about a year ago. Have been in pain ever since. Post op care and see his medical staff were awful. They lack compassion and no bedside manner!

Dr. Brown and Chris Steyskal provided excellent medical care and support during my recent lumbar microdiscectomy. They answered all my questions thoroughly and provided timely responses pre and post surgery. After 9 months of not being able to walk - I have my life back. Thank you

I had chairi malformation surgery done by Dr.Brown. I had never heard of this until my regular doctor sent me for an MRI It was not migraines. It was a very serious problem that turned my world upside down knowing I had two young children, my heart sink. Just a few days later I was sitting in Dr. Browns office needing brain surgery. He was wonderful. He took time to explain what was happening in my head. As tears fell he was very compassion and caring. I would recommend him 100 times over.

Today I had an appointment to see Dr. Brown. After waiting over an hour I went to the front desk and was told that I would be called in shortly. To make a long story short, after getting into an examination room I continued to wait. Having been in the office for over an hour and a half I left. When I confronted the front to tell them they should have let patients know about the delay so they could reschedule they blamed the drs.

I recently had back surgery done by Dr. Brown. I had been suffering from back pain for years. From our first consultation through surgery and post op I found him to be very clear in his diagnosis , plan and recovery strategy.. He was very professional and had great bedside manners. I consider him an excellent neurosurgeon. I told him I hadn't felt this good in 40 years, and I meant it. I would recommend him to anyone.. Thank you Dr. Brown.. Dan Shipko from Swansboro ,NC..

Dr. Brown did several neck surgeries and later a lower back surgery for my Mom. She thinks he is the best around. She was able to golf and ski again. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else!

I have degenerative disc disease. Twelve years ago I was all but bed ridden at 34 years old. I thank God every day that I found Dr. Brown. I had a spinal fusion on my lower spine L4-L5 and got my life back. A couple of years ago my disc had degenerated in my cervical spine area. Dr. Brown did my second spinal fusion. When I went into surgery I was literally in screaming pain. After surgery and still 2 years later no meds and no pain. Dr. Brown is the BEST NEUROSURGEON on the East Coast!

Staff is very rude! They were trying to charge me money, even though I have Medicaid and Medicare, just because my injuries were caused by a motor vehicle accident. Then they wanted to charge me a dollar a page to retrieve my records to move on to a different neurosurgeon! Avoid this office like the plague. I should have paid attention to these horrible reviews first!

I had a spinal cord stimulator placed. He forced the lead into my epidural space that was way to large for my space. This caused extreme pain down my right leg. The hospital had me on the strongest pain meds available and that still wasn't enough to touch the pain. He wanted me to wait until the next day to remove the stimulator. If it weren't for my sister and mother, to whom he was rude, he would have left me suffering. This was supposed to be outpatient surgery. 3 days later I was discharged.
