My Foot was Worse After Dr. Marr Did Surgery On It
Dr. Marr has zero bedside manner and comes across as an uncaring and detached doctor. He did not adequately explain to me how debilitating my foot surgery would be. I feel he was too aggressive with my surgery, so my foot actually became worse after the procedure. When I came back a year later to discuss this fact with him, he became defensive. He said I had developed arthritis in one of my toes and that was where the pain was coming from, even though I had no arthritis in that toe before the surgery. I believe the arthritis was a post-traumatic development after the surgery on the toe. Dr. Marr breezed over my questions about how this arthritis had developed so quickly and simply recommended I start getting injections for the pain or start taking anti-inflammatory meds. I could have done injections and meds instead of the surgery and would have saved myself a lot of time, money, and disability.I do not recommend this doctor for anyone needing foot surgery

A Personable Appointment
It’s always nice to go to an appointment where you feel you are seen as both a person and a patient. Dr. Marr took the time to talk to me about my progress - coming along nicely; the x-rays show that everything looks good - and about how life’s going and my up and coming plans for travel, etc. We then noted when I should come for my next appointment. It was great to talk to a doctor who took time as a person and physician. Thank you, Dr. Marr!

Fantastic!!
This amazing doctor helped me with a tendon issue in my ankle that I had for two years. He got me right on the schedule and did an amazing job. I'm so happy I chose Dr. Marr instead of going all the way to Duke from Wilmington. I am one month postop with no pain.

Staff seemed very unhappy
Visit with Dr. Marr is what you expect these days. He was pleasant but a rushed visit during his time with me. What stood out to me was how unhappy each staff member was starting from the receptionist, the assistant, and the x-ray tech. Being in the medical field, I understand how doctors run late. However, there was never one smile, one apology on delay, one update on the delay or any attempt to show me I mattered as a patient. I felt like they were interacting with a medical number rather than a person. Staff morale seemed very low.
