Overcharged for visit
Went to Dr. Bernal for my microscopic colitis condition. He charged almost 3 times more than the doctor I had seen previously, and did literally nothing other than renew my prescription. Would not recommend at all.

Great Doctor
I would never go anywhere else but here with Dr.Bernal... My husband was sick and he did everything and never gave up until he found out what was happening with him. I still go to him for my follow ups!! Great Doctor!!

Terrible bedside manner
He may be a good GI doctor in technical terms, however he needs to explain the process, the results and the possible treatment options in detail. The patient does not know what they don’t know. The nurse was a bit better, but not much.

Would not allow a medical exemption for radical COVID-19 vaccination when work required it. Patient is immune compromised per the doctors treatment. Patient has natural immunity from previous COVID-19 infection.

I've been trying to get in to see Dr Bernal for at least four months. They refuse to schedule me. Their doctors are completely unavailable. I've been vomiting daily for over a YEAR, and they still won't schedule a gastric emptying study, another endoscopy/colonoscopy, scans, nothing (Dr Bernal preformed both March 2019, yet never discovered what the issue was. Basically, hands up, "Dunno! Go home and suffer indefinitely!"). Don't go here, unless you want to be sent home to die.

Dr. Bernal is very friendly . One thing I didn't like after the procedure is that he was gone when I woke up, I didn't get to talk to him or ask him questions. I was directed to contact the office and speak with his nurse. Unlike Dr. Bernal, she is very condescending and rude, I had a list of questions to ask but didn't ask them all because while to her the answer seemed "obvious" they were not to me. Ques. like "how long will I have to be on this medication".

I like Dr. Bernal but his nurse that takes care of his scheduling is unfriendly, speaks as though she would rather you go elsewhere, does not return calls---even though I've been a patient before and gave my phone number 2 times she says they don't know how to reach me??? Due to these issues, and more, I decided to go elsewhere for medical care. I really wanted to stay with him but his nurse made it impossible.

He's been my main doctor for several years now and out of every doctor I've been with, he's done the most and the best. He's always on top of things and helps out more than I expected, and special regards to the nurse Jenna.
