Saw the dermatologist last year with several questions about my skin. The worst was what appeared to be a painful cyst on the bottom of my foot that began to open up and change colors. This was concerning to me as a person living with T1D. Basically Charrow said the same thing as another dermatologist I saw about it. They both advised me to „scrape away” at it over time with a pumice stone. This was unhelpful advice and the pain persisted (a symptom that both doctors chose to ignore and dismiss). Ultimately I did my own research and decided to sleep with a castor oil pack over the cyst for one night - the next day it was gone. I wish these doctors in this country had adequate training.

Caring and up to speed on all the advances in HS
Dr. Charrow has been seeing me for HS for a few years now - she is one of few derms who specialize in this disease and I really appreciate the fact that she is always up to speed on treatment and drug advances and provides frank feedback on how lifestyle does or does not affect HS. Would highly recommend her for HS or for other derm issues such as psoriasis, atypical mole syndrome and melanoma screening, etc.

Collaborative, Kind, Safe Provider to Talk To
Every single step of seeing Dr. Charrow was amazing. Her staff was so kind and on top of it in getting me in. Her fellow was extremely knowledgeable and it was obvious they both read my chart before seeing me and had a strong understanding of my history (I have a complex medical history). She and the fellow both were thorough and took all the time I needed to discuss options, they truly collaborated with me and answered questions. Honestly it's one of the first times I've seen a dermatologist and left feeling like we had a solution, clear next steps and I felt shame free about what I am experiencing. I never want to go anywhere else.

Best Experience I've Had in Healthcare – Feb 19, 2024

Wonderful first visit
I had a wonderful and comfortable experience with Dr. Charrow, I highly recommend! My previous dermatologist pushed me to take medication that I wasn't comfortable with (because of mental health side effects) and made me feel guilty about my skin health. Dr. Charrow took a much more holistic approach--I felt like we were working together to make my skin health better, in the context of my overall health.
