Dr. Charoen is the best gastroenterologist I’ve encountered! She went above and beyond to not only try to help me with my symptoms and rule out every possible issue, but she’s also the first doctor to sit down and have an actual conversation with me and listen to my needs. She explains everything so thoroughly and always makes sure I understand what’s going on.

Dr. Charoen is a very kind and thorough doctor. She took the time to explain my diagnosis in detail as well as various treatment options. She answered all my questions and I never felt rushed to let her get to the next patient. I'm grateful that she is my doctor.

When I first came down with colitis and was referred to her by Dr Smith she got me in right away and started to rule things out. She has been very attentive, caring, etc to me as a patient and has been beside me the whole step of the way. I am on my healing journey and all because of the great staffing and Dr Charoen I feel safe and extremely well taken care of.

I recently had a colonoscopy with Dr. Charoen, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Dr. Charoen was incredibly attentive, taking the time to thoroughly explain all the procedures beforehand. She carefully reviewed my medical history and made the wise decision to use a smaller colonoscope, which turned out to be the right choice given my unique colon structure.The best part was that I didn’t feel any pain at all, both during and after the operation. Additionally, the staff was very friendly and supportive throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Charoen for her professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent patient care.

Dr. Charoen is amazing! From my first visit to my most recent visit she has taken excellent care. She listens to everything I have to say and all my questions. She takes more time to respond and answer all of my concerns and questions. I drive 1.5 hours just to see Dr. Charoen because of her excellent care. I highly recommend her.

From start to finish, Dr C and her team made me feel comfortable and cared for.

In fall 2022, I had a big surgery that necessitated the removal of 2/3rds of my bowel. As a result, I suffered with symptoms of short gut syndrome. I was unable to gain weight, my hair was falling out, and my lab results were all over the place. Emotionally, I was a mess. Dr. Charoen met with me and assured me that she could and would help me. She had reviewed ALL pertinent records before she met with me, she listened to me, asked open ended questions to flush out my story, and she included me in the plan to improve outcomes. Unlike some doctors I have seen, I felt like Dr. Charoen saw me as a person who needed help not just someone to increase billable hours. I highly recommend Dr. Charoen.

She is a very compassionate doctor and I regret that she is leaving Hopkins.
