Dr. Amy Makemson, MD

Dr. Amy is the best internal medicine doctor in Northern Alabama. So why am I moving to a virtual doctor after being treated by her for over 20 years? The office is a mess. The hours of operation are dwindling. It's impossible to get in to see the doctor. I'm often billed for preventative visits despite my insurance entitling me to one a year. The office staff has been pretty abysmal throughout the years. Most are very rude and far from accommodating. Occasional there's a nice receptionist but they are gone quickly. I assume they are chased away by all the other mean girls in the office. I've had such a struggle with pretty much any communication with the nonclinical staff. So it finally happened, virtual is more convenient and surprisingly more attentive. I'll miss Dr Amy but not the stress associated with her rude office staff.

I've been seeing Dr Amy Makemson for many years. She takes the time to talk to you and see what issues you have. She stays on top of your health. She contacts you to get blood work and come in at least every six months. I wouldn't want to see another doctor.

Starting with Dr Amy Makemson and ending with the entire team.....they are amazing. No doubt as to their sincerity and true care concerning not only your health but you individually. I'm not the type to leave reviews good or bad but with how the team has cared for my wife and I, I truly feel it would be wrong not to allow others the chance to know about such outstanding people. 100% happy with Dr Makemson and entire team

I have been going to Dr. Amy close to the time she started her practice. She is so knowledgeable and caring and a good Christian woman. She has helped me when specialists weren’t successful. She doesn’t leave a stone unturned where your health is concerned. Caring, sweet, smart as a whip, what more could you want in a Dr. There basically is no wait time for a scheduled appointment, runs the practice like a well oiled machine. AWESOME DR.

Dr. Amy Makemson is the most caring doctor I have ever used. She has been my doctor for over 10 years and I have always been satisfied with her diagnosis. She treats you like you were a family member.
