Disrespectful and arrogant
Extremely disrespectful. After waiting an hour and asking when I might be seen I was told “sometime today.” I was told by the assistant there was noone they could ask to determine a more exact time—yet it turned out he was just sitting in the hallway not even seeing patients, right next to the assistant—yes the one who claimed she couldn’t ask him or anyone else how far behind he was. Awful “service provider”. I can absolutely believe the other reviewer they this “doctor” blamed the patient for the “doctor’s” mistake. It would be consistent with the attitude I experienced.

disrespectful, unprofessional
kept patient waiting nearly an hour after the scheduled appointment time then had the staff communicate that they didn't know when he would be available but probably sometime that day -- while he was sitting around in the hallway not even seeing patients. arrogant, rude, disrespectful, unprofessional.

I just had left hip revision by Dr Freiberg in NOV, after he had successfully replaced my left hip in 2005, my right hip in 2010 and my right knee in 2015. I consider him to be at the very top of his profession, and I have total confidence in his medical skills and ability. He has successfully operated on several of my colleagues as well over the past twenty years, all of whom think he is terrific. NWH is lucky to have him!

If you need your hip or knee replaced it would be hard to find a better surgeon. Experience and skill matter a lot.

Rude. Only went for a consultation and he said he wouldn’t take me as a patient because my expectations were too high. Said he’d never be able to make me walk like I did 25 years ago. And also told me I ask dumb questions. Also had to wait 90 mnutrs for him after my appt. time.

Dr. Freiberg is incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful. He is active in helping to train new surgeons and cares about his patient. I've never met a more friendly surgeon and I've worked with hundreds. He's VERY well known in the orthopedic community as being fantastic at what he does.

After four reconstruction surgeries I selected Dr. Freiburg for my knee replacement. WHAT A MISTAKE! He was SO FULL OF HIMSELF he told me about all of his successes and didn't listen to what I said. I asked him, no less that 10 times, what was going to keep my new knee from hyperextending & 10 times he told me it was built in to the prosthetic. Wrong. The first month my knee failed. Freiburg forgot I was that person. He took his failure out on me & told me to get a brace. Despicable!

Over the past 22 years Dr. Freiberg has operated on my hips three times. His expertise and caring nature are the reason I have been able to live my life to the fullest. His staff (some have been there for the 22 years!) are caring, kind and excel at their jobs. I commuted from the southwestern US to have care at Mass Gen and, though it was difficult, I would make the same decision both in the past and going forward. Thank you Dr Freiberg!

Zero wait time. Super efficient and friendly. After seeing three other ortho surgeons Freiberg is by far and away the most competent, to the point but friendly. Just gave me a great sense of trust and comfort.
