She shushed me
I was at my very first Rhuem visit and as I was sharing, she shushed me and waved me off. She made me feel like I did not matter.

Was not helpful at all in either helping find a diagnosis or referring me to someone who could. Rude and did not answer any of my questions. Seemed visibly irritated the entire time. Her horrible bedside manner might be tolerable if she was a good clinician but did not appear to be Also self-discloses in a way that is uncomfortable and irrelevant. After telling her I worked in healthcare she went on a ten minute rant about low vaccination rates and how stupid people are. Did not disagree with most but was not coming in to hear her air her grievances about the pandemic. Everything other reviewers said seem spot on. After several appointments with her it seems to explain why it’s so easy to get appointment with her. If you can, go somewhere else.

Bedside manner is awful. Dismissive, did not go through my medical history, did not educate me of conditions, medicines, or the give me the opportunity to ask many questions. There were a few snide remarks that I brushed off, but now seeing other reviews, I guess that is how she is. I don't really trust her decisions or feel that she is in my corner.

Dr. Gopal is a wonderful, caring physician. She is very thorough in her examination and questions regarding problem areas with my joints. She is always willing to discuss treatment options with me and explain her rationale for choosing a particular medication. I have never been treated badly or felt hurried out the door. I definitely recommend Dr. Gopal.

Dr. Gopal's bedside manner is atrocious. She is rude, condescending, and I will never, ever return to her office. She dictates what you should do, then shames and belittles you if you ask questions. If you question her, she uses scare tactics to get her point across. There are so many other much better rheumatologists out there. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. She is absolutely horrible.

Dr. Gopal was rude, condescending and dismissive. She talked bad about other patients to me. She did not examine my problem area after multiple visits. She said I was probably having pain because I was out of shape and fat. She said she couldn't take my pain seriously if I wasn't willing to take medication for it on a daily basis. Had to go to another doctor to get a diagnosis. I will never go to her again.

I have never came across a doctor like her!!! She dismissed everything I said from the moment I entered the door until I left. I’ve been experiencing lupus symptoms since October. I provided all documentation and photos. A positive ANA etc...she didn’t show any empathy just oh, you’re probably stressed! What a joke she is!

Dr go pal was rude, uninformed, and not interested in me. Seemed in a hurry to end the session. I was the last patient and she wanted to get home. I have been to many doctors but never one so unfit for the profession. She is a disgrace to the profession.

She was unhelpful in a hurry and treated me like a number. She should take lessons on how to communicate with patients. She is devoid of compassion and a friendly personality. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone.

I got referred to the Rheum department and got an appointment with Dr. Gopal for 2+ months out. Going there, I hit traffic so I called to let the office know I’d be 15 minutes late. They said they’d pass it on and to still come. When I arrived, Dr. Gopal refused to see me and the front desk staff was entirely unhelpful. They failed to tell me on my way not to come, and Dr. Gopal has no flexibility, which you would expect for a new patient and given these reviews. Don’t waste your time!!

Dr. Gopal has been thorough and kind throughout a difficult process of finding the right medicine to help with my arthritis and psoriasis. She kept trying to figure out what would work best for me and after two and half years we found the right one. During that time she was compassionate and informed, and made sure I was informed as well. I'd recommend Dr. Gopal to everyone!

I was passed on to her because my Dr. retired. I saw her maybe 5x. Hoping maybe I just caught her on a bad day. No, she is as bad as other reviewers stated. No thourough exams, bedside manner sucks, talks down to you if you are not as sick as her other patients. Once said “you don’t have cancer. You are not that sick.” I have an issue I told her about almost a yr. ago. She brushed it off saying I was just fat. I’m now scheduling surgery with another Dr. I’ve been in pain for a year. SMH...

Dr. Gopal has been extremely responsive in her communication with me and has tried numerous therapies to help control my arthritis. I have multiple health issues and she coordinates care and medications with my other docs. I'm very happy with the care she has provided and especially with timely and responsive communication. Reviews are so mixed for her care seems like it's either excellent or poor.Based on my experience I can just say that she didn't listen to my symptoms or have any bedside manners AT ALL. She talked to me in the most condecending way and when I mentioned test results she just said it's not that bad. I live with pain that interferes with my everyday life and the test results say in the comments section that is more than triple of what it should be and to visit the doctorASAP. NEVER again!

I have multiple health issues that stem from inflammatory problems, and I can tell you that Dr. Gopal is not only very knowledgeable, but she also cares A LOT. She makes sure to spend adequate time with her patients, and also responds very quickly whenever she is emailed through Northwestern's Patient Portal.

Dr. Gopal is a very knowledgeable and friendly doctor. She is always appraised of the latest medications and treatments and helped me gain my wrist movement and kept my psoriatic arthritis completely under control. I appreciate her openness and honest presentation of facts and treatment options. I also like how energetic and full of optimism she is - she can be hard on you if you are not following treatment or diet/exercise regiment, but I even appreciate that because it means she really cares.

Dr. Gopal saw me today. I arrived late, due to traffic, however, she made room in her schedule to see me. This was my first appointment with her. She was kind, thorough, and I felt she knew everything she needed to know about me by the time we finished. She asked thoughtful questions, and listened carefully. She demonstrated through questions and comments that she is very skilled in her area of specialization, and I was comfortable with her and confident in her abilities by the time I left.

She did not examine me. My blood pressure was sky high from pain when I arived and she never double checked it. Did not ask me any questions about my chronic pain. Rather, told me I am probubly a drug addict, compared me to her other patients and, bragged about being a doctor for 7 years. I have crohns and spine arthritis. Life is hard enough I hope to never meet a doctor like her again.
