Dr. Stroink is wonderful and a lifesaver! Myself and 2 of my 3 daughters suffered from Chiari Malformation. Dr. Stroink performed decompression surgery on all 3 of us. We all had excellent care from her.

22 yrs since Dr. Stroink did C3,4,5 surgery for me
I am thrilled to this day that Dr. Stroink was recommended to me. I had tried all palliative treatments for over a year and my condition continued to decline. I had an opinion by another neurosurgeon who was only going to do 1 level of my spine and I clearly needed more. I was told that I would probably need the other level in about 6 mo. This was totally unacceptable to me so I sought out Dr. Stroink with MRI’s in hand. She took one look @ me, my scans and said not only did I need multiple levels Cervical 3,4,5 but I was an emergency case to her and she did my surgery within a week!! I was treated with dignity, kindness, professionalism & respect before, during and after. I had a very positive outcome and I highly recommend this gifted neurosurgeon.

The staff is the only good thing
Judgemental and Accusatory. Had preconceived notions about me. Obviously took one look at my chart and wrote me off as unworthy of her time. Told me I wasn't her typical case as she does the more complicated cases now, but she guessed she could do mine. Proceeded to tell me over the counter and an antipsychotic medications are fine for post surgical pain. Did not explain procedure. I was given a brochure and my questions about anesthesia were blown off. Take that up with the Anesthesiologist. Actually told me she didn't have time for this. I was not appreciative of being told to come early to an appointment that was scheduled before the office opened either but up until that point I'd played nice. Never heard from anesthesiologist and her office called to schedule the surgery. Never heard from the anesthesiologist before that. Didn't feel safe letting her even touch me and decided I'd rather die than let her do a thing.

This provider is very neglectful and refuses to see her patients after procedures. She does not return phone calls or follow up. She picks and chooses who she will provide great care for. My mother is worse after her procedure with Dr. Stroink and she is avoiding us.

I was very much disappointed in this doctor. It was a while back and I now want to put up a negative review. I have a bad back from gymnastics from my youth and that was in my chart. Dr Stroink walked in and told me to stand up. I did and she proceeded to tell me I was too tall to be a gymnast. It got much worse from there. I’m finally getting help from Northwestern because she intimidated me from seeking help again. The other doctors in the room were just as stunned as me. She has a horrible way of talking down to you. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor.

I have NOTHING but GOOD things to say about Dr. Stroink! Various members of my family have been patients of hers over the last 30 years and she has been completely upfront about anything/everything and I will rue the day that she retires.......

If I am being honest this may be the single worst experience I have ever been apart of. Left more questions than answers. During the appointment she left the room to answer a call. Everything we tried to share felt as if she ignored it. After a 3 week wait we spent 20 minutes with her. I am concerned for my wife and she left the appointment crying. I felt helpless so back to the neurologist who recommended her.

Dr. Stroink is an incredibly bright doctor with a fabulous bedside manner. She spent at least a half an hour getting to know me and understanding the issues I was having with my shunt. Then she pushed on her staff to ensure that I had surgery within 2 weeks as she promised. I am so excited to get back to normal as I have lived with constant pain since Thanksgiving.
