Dr. Rizzo is a great surgeon - and that is what people need to remember - he is a surgeon first - Dr. second. He is not going to put you on a regimen to magically fix your condition - if you are referred to him - you most likely have a serious issue that needs to be corrected surgically. One other thing I would like to note... I too have dealt with waiting for hours to see him (after driving two hours) and one time I was scheduled he wasn't even there - he was at the Chagrin location because that is where he is scheduled on Monday's - so that was the fault of the secretary who scheduled me. Dr. Rizzo does not have a lot of time to discuss your condition or even answer a ton of questions because C.C. over books his appointments (that's how many people ask for him.) There are days he see's upwards of 50 patients - this came straight from his nurse's mouth. C.C. needs to hire more vascular surgeons! Anyway, be thankful if you need a major surgery and your lucky enough to get Dr. Rizzo.

I was a patient in 2019.I was impressed first couple of visites with expieriance and what Dr. Rizzo said as far as commitment to dticking with me to the end getting me cured. That didnt last long.a couple test and he was done.Seemed like he had more on his plate than he could handle.Once i even drove for 4 hours to a scheduled appointment at which time to get yet another test which i was excited to do and hopefully make some progress and it ended up he scheduled the wrong test and had his assistant come to my room and tell me he wasn't even going to see me after driving in from out of state.after complaining he came in and was rude.I obviosly offended him by complaining to his assistant. He said there was nothing else he could do for me.My personal opinion is he may have been very good at one time but he needs replaced with some new blood in the field that hasn't loss compassion and heart and dedication.Bad help is worthless and i would not recomend this guy.Very disapointed .

Dr. Rizzo is a great surgeon. The best for aortic aneurysm repair. He is skilled and open. He is easy to speak to as well. His staff, especially his nurse practitioner are top-knotch in skill and knowledge. I would highly recommend Dr. Rizzo.

My wife had a fistula put in her arm by Dr. Rizzo back in January 2017. We heard great things about him and I even checked him here on Health Grades to see how he ranked. It seemed very impressive. On the day of the surgery, we went to Hillcrest Hospital at the scheduled time. My wife checked in and was told to have a seat and it shouldn't be too long. NINE HOURS later they called her in to be prepped. Long story short, she ended up in the hospital and found that the doctor screwed up.
