Did my surgery in 2013
I had many Dr.s appts before I was referred out to see this guy. He was nice in the beginning. My surgery was for my neck. The surgery went ok. It was during my recovery that things went sideways. I was on so much pain meds I was overdosed. I was on the morphine pump and switching between lortabs and oxytocin every 4 hours. I left the hospital more broken than fixed. I had to use a walker and oxygen. During one of my follow up appointments he was seeing everyone but me. I freaked out and he quit seeing me. If I have an appointment I'm on time and I expect the same thing not a 3 hour delay because you and your staff can't get it together.

I know his nurse's voice ... Who is the woman who returns calls, who is not his nurse? She had no idea what I was referring to when I commented, "... you were the only one who mentioned in Jan., of stepping down the medication, remember?" (Of course she didn't, it was not his nurse.) ... accused 2x by his PA I was not doing as required or I would not be in the pain I was in "this far out." Figured out the horrendous pain on my own, Opioid Induced Hyperalgesia ... Bad team, no communication!!

Dr. Russo is a friendly and caring physician. He made it clear of 2 things during my first visit. One being that he doesn't prescribe narcotics freely and he won't perform unnecessary surgeries. A year later with several rounds of PT, epidurals and some meds, I opted for surgery. He did an excellent job fusing L 2 through L 5 which made one big difference. I do have significant nerve damage witch he couldn't foresee that keeps me from working. Excellent physician!!

Dr. Russo gave my life back to me. My back and stenosis was so bad, I thought the only thing left for me was the waiting wheel chair. His caring skill and knowledge changed all of that. The pain in my hips, pelvis and legs was literally gone in the recovery room. Within 4 weeks, I was in less pain than I had been in for as long as I can remember. Eight weeks in, I feel that I am starting life again with a new body. What can a person say about the man that gave my life back to me!
