Dr. Austin Smith, MD

My Wife had a serious fall and broke her left arm completely throguh and dislocated it. After going to a hospital emergnecy room we were turned away as they did not have capcity to do the required surgery for over a week. The OrthoArizona staff got us a appointment with Dr. Smith and was able to schedule the emergency Surgery the within 2 days. While this does not sound great we had checked with with at least 10 other Oropedic Surgeons, at best it was goint to take a week to have a consult. Dr. Smith, took his time with us to address our conerns and went out of his way to get my wife scheudled as soon as possible. He did a great job. The arm is healing well and all follow-up appointments have been with him. His staff has been very helpfull too.

liked that this place realizes body parts are connected and got xrays of both shoulders and ended up going with shots in both plus got a exercise to do which other physical therapy places never showed me

I do not go to drs because of poor bedside manners and lack of wanting to help. This was NOT the care I received here. He was interested in what I had to say and explained everything and ALL the options and did not push meds. The visit was thorough and quick. No sitting and waiting for hours. I wish there were more Dr. Smiths in healthcare.

Dr. Austin Smith is personable and most importantly is an intelligent physician. He established a comfortable rapport with my husband which is also very important. I was impressed with the quality of his questions in trying to determine diagnoses. Although it was very late in his day (after 5:00pm), he was still patient and kind.

First and most important to me was my appointment time was ON TIME! OrthoArizona runs like a well organized practice. I did feel the x-ray technicians were impersonal….rushed and detached. Dr. Smith was amazing. He was genuine, made me feel deeply involved in the decision process. Attention to detail and empathy impressive. Front desk and medical assistants were also exceptional. Overall, probably the best medical related experience I’ve had in Mesa! FIVE STARS!
