Condescending
My experience with Dr Merchant was terrible. I sat in the exam room for at least 50 minutes before the doctor came in. No apology for wait. Gave me a VERY concerning health diagnosis and then was VERY condescending in the discussion following. Absolutely zero bed-side manner here! I will not go back to this doctor for ANY further care!!!

Do NOT recommend
I’ve never seen such a rude & dismissive MD. Made multiple rude comments to me regarding my health rather than offering supportive options to fix them. For colonoscopy he stated “well you’ve had one before so you know the risks” & that was it - for context my last colonoscopy was 12 years ago. Luckily I got in w/ a different GI (at a different practice) who thoroughly talked through plans to address my symptoms and find a root cause. Oh and thoroughly reviewed the risk and benefits of recommended colonoscopy (Dr.Merchant asked ME if I thought I needed one- he had no opinion on if I needed one or not- seems like that’s the MD’s job to determine recommended treatment. My new GI asked me symptoms, investigated my full health history, explained all the pathophysiology that may be causing my symptoms- Merchant didn’t do ANY of this. Wouldn’t even recommend this practice- they have multiple PA and NP’s on staff with ZERO background or training in Gastro.
