Dr. Barbara Van Eeckhout, MD

My daughter is 23, has doctored by herself multiple times over the last 5 years and has never been treated with such disrespect. She has been having abnormal bleeding for 10 days that is similar but not her normal menstrual bleeding. She went to urgent care who referred her to an OBGYN to make sure she got specialty care. She is no longer with her hometown doctor(moved for a job)and took the first available appointment. Dr. Van Eekhout told her that it was probably just a switch in birth control and that it may have 'something to do with the moon' and 'that she is finally growing up' and needed to adjust to the weight change. She had not changed birth control and the doctor dismissed her concerns. NO PELVIC EXAM OR PHYSICAL EXAM WAS DONE AFTER BEING REFERRED!My family has a history of uterine cancer and after advocating for herself, the doctor finally put in a referral to radiology. ABNORMALTIES came back! Doctor wrote in her notes that my daughter refused a pelvic!!

This Dr told my daughter in law that she would have to have a C-section just because the baby was measuring large. Just so happens she has a vacation planned around the due date. This is my DILs 3rd baby. She inappropriately flipped my DILs belly fat to reinforce her criticism of her weight. The dr has been very critical of my DILs weight which is interesting since the Dr is also overweight. The Dr keeps talking about her son’s fatty liver disease at age 16. Very strange and unprofessional behavior.

I saw Dr. Barb for a particular issue and she ran an ultrasound that found what appeared to be a uterine polyp, she called me the day following the ultrasound and said that she'd do a procedure to remove the polyp. I then went in for a pre-op appointment with Dr. Barb 4 days after the phone call with the ultrasound results. Dr. Barb came into the room for my pre-op appointment with no idea what I was in there for, she was asking me what was going on and seemed like a completely different person

She performed a hysterectomy on me. Would not recommend her to anyone. The after care is horrible. The office staff was nice initially. Left numerous messages to have the doctor call. Dr. claimed she never received my messages. The office manager speaks for the doctor. Dr. Van Eeckhout was not good about answering my questions after the surgery. Her comment to me was, I don't know. I am not God.
