Dr. Benjamin Miller, DO

I got an inguinal hernia surgery here nearly a year ago. I'm in my mid-30s, excellent health otherwise, thin and athletic. Dr. Ben Miller lied to me about the size and location of the scars then attempted to gaslight me about it after the fact. He did not adequately explain to me how the scope of the surgery might change mid surgery. I had terrible months-long abscessing. I still have chronic daily stabbing nerve pain that affects my ability to exercise and work. I deeply regret getting my surgery here and will never get another surgery in Juneau because of this experience. I do not trust Dr. Miller.

Not a good experience.

Very knowledgeable, to the point, and explains things well

I was sent to Dr. Miller's office as a referral from an Urgent Care facility. I do not live in Juneau and was sort of at the mercy of strangers for medical help in an urgent situation. I was able to see the doctor within 24 hours of initial contact after the referral, and I was able to have a hospital based procedure done the following day after meeting with the doctor. I found him to be warm, friendly and professional. He erred on the side of being thorough, which I appreciated.

Dr. Miller apparently has magic fingers when it comes to doing double inguinal hernia repairs. My surgery was four weeks ago and I've not had any complications - three days of super sore then feeling better and better each day. I concur with the Dr's recommendation to do the traditional open surgery w/mesh procedure since it is the gold standard to which other methods have not proven superior. Thanks.
