Dr. Benjamin Shapiro, MD

If you are a woman looking for a doctor to actually listen and understand your experience before slapping on a diagnosis, this is not the doctor to go to. The office team were very kind and understanding, but the Shapiro’s manner and method were both lacking. I actively had to interrupt him to correct him about assumptions he made about me. At the end, he gave me a diagnosis which I do not meet the criteria for and was actively telling him I didn’t experience those symptoms and told me that the symptoms I was dealing with can actually 'be pretty nice to have', completely ignoring the suffering and difficulties I came in to get help with. He then tried to sell me on expensive treatments they had at their office. It took a separate call to Shapiro from my therapist to convince him that I was experiencing difficulties because of my symptoms, but even then, he continued to make decisions about my care without explaining them to me or asking me about them. Would not recommend.
