Dr. Brian Ratigan, MD

Great visit

Dr. Ratigan treated me for ongoing one and a half years of left knee pain. After imaging he spent twenty minutes examining my left knee and to my relief, he advised that the issue was not due to any major damage but that an injection of cortisone my resolve the pain. If the injection does not result in a complete fix, it may require a simple surgery. Within one minute of the injection, I was pain free! Even if ultimately surgery is required I have only the greatest admiration and gratitude for the companionate, skillful and easy to understand treatments of Dr. Ratigan. Job Well Done!

Amazing. Friendly, kind, professional, attentive, and did a great job. He spent time with us, we felt like we had his undivided attention, explained everything clearly and we could not be happier!

Upon arriving at his office his staff had me sign a "Punctuality pledge" to ensure that the doctor could bill me if I cancel with less than 24 hours notice. Then he doesn't even bother to show up for our appointment. The unmidgated arrogance is staggering.

I appreciated the honesty of his opinion and expertise. I was thankful they could work me in to his schedule in my limited time frame.

The professionalism of Dr. Ratigan and his staff is unparalleled. His PA, who drained a Baker's cyst in the office did an amazing job as well. I've recommended Dr. Ratigan to several friends and family and will continue to do so. When I finally agree to have my knee replacement procedure done,, there's no one else that I would choose to do my surgery.

He missed my shoulder injury because he neglected to use contrast on the shoulder MRI. It is absolutely imperative to use contrast in order to see the scope and field of soft tissue injuries when it comes to the shoulder. They thought I had a frozen shoulder due to thyroid issues. However I had 3 tears in my rotator cuff and my labrum was hanging by a thread. Thank God my physical therapist caught it because they wanted to continue with more steroid injections which would have done more damage in this situation, she suggested a 2nd opinion. The new Dr knew within a matter of seconds what was wrong with me and did a phenomenal job on my shoulder. It’s been 10 months since my surgery and it’s better than ever. I have forgiven you for this but please in the future always use contrast on the shoulder as not too miss anything for the sake of your patients. You did do a nice job on my arthroscopic knee surgery though, so thank you for that.

Dr. Ratigan is simply amazing! From our first meeting, when my husband had rotator cuff surgery to my own experience with a total knee replacement, Dr Ratigan was professional, knowledgeable, explained my options and was just the most personable and nicest man. I had total knee replacement surgery on June 2 ND and did not have any pain whatsoever. I took no pain medication and was surprised at how easy it was to get around. The personnel at Allied Surgery were the best I have ever experienced. I started PT at SBO immediately and the Therapists were the best. This was a wonderful experience and Dr Ratigan is the best surgeon I have had.

I normally comment until months after a surgical procedure. But, I didn’t want Too much time to pass without saying how Dr Rattigan made this surgical procedure a good experience, so far. Great guy.

Dr. Ratigan is a genuinely compassionate and engaged man who is articulate, warm, and inspiring. His interaction is thorough and fully focused upon you, the patient. He explains all options without bias toward any treatment, allowing you to choose what you are most comfortable doing. When I first met him 12 years ago he was able to help me find a non-surgical treatment that was perfect for my shoulder injury. Because of his hippocratic heart I didn’t hesitate to call for an appointment for this current situation. He is the kindest, most empathetic, non egoistic physician that I have ever encountered! If only there were many more like him, there would truly be more satisfied patients.

I have severe knee problems. He was very honest that he didn't feel comfortable with kind of surgery I need and is sending to a different surgeon. I truly appreciate his honesty.
