Excellent!
Finally some answers! My initial appointment was greeted with a physician who took the time to understand exactly what it occurred and where I was presently. He did office evaluations and sent me for more testing. Although the results were not what I was expecting or hoping for, I now know we are on the right track together. Many questions have been answered and some have yet to be answered by for the testing. As soon as my test results were in the office staff did their best to schedule me the next day. I was able to take a cancellation which I was grateful for. All of my doctors know him and trust Dr. Barton’s decisions. They eagerly wait to read his notes and interpretation of results. It has taken me 3 1/2 years to get some of the results that sadly, I had not had since a near car accident ( a driver ran a red light hitting my car so hard, it was pushed info oncoming traffic). Thank you to Dr. Barton and his staff for helping me navigate next steps.

not a corporate medical mill
I really like this doctor, because he seems to actually care about patients. He takes his time with you and explains things. He is the only doctor I have seen in 1.5 years that actually gave me a definitive diagnosis of a rare disorder called syringolmyelia. Unfortunately, he referred to two other neurosurgeons at the Neuroscience institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital thinking these "experts" could be of assistance, but which have been of ZERO help. One told me he could operate, but "it probably wouldn't help and I have a larger, more global neurological problem." That doctor immediately referred me (without informing me that he learned I have 3 herniated disks in my neck)to another neurosurgeon in his office for a lumbar puncture. I waited 3.5 months for an appointment with that doctor who informed me he was leaving the state/practice in a couple of weeks and proceeded to make a referral to another doctor in the practice who has no appts. 7 months wasted.

Office Claims to take insurance & bills you later.
When I was making appointment, I specifically asked if they took my insurance. They replied that they did, so I made an appointment. If they did not take my insurance, I would have gone elsewhere, because I CANNOT AFFORD to pay more than the $70 copay during visit. Several months later, I received a bill for another $110 and the claim that they do not take my insurance. When I asked why they would claim to take my insurance and then turn around and say the opposite, they simply stated, "Oh well, it is the patient's responsibility". I am sorry, but it appears they will say YES to anyone regarding insurance, then bill you anyway. I feel this is no more than a "bait and switch". PS, Dr. Barton was pleasant.

The worst office staff I have ever dealt with. After waiting 3 weeks for a consultation, the office staff mysteriously lost my appointment. After I left the office they cancelled my second appointment for my test. They were rude and completely unapologetic.

The actual nerve study with Dr Barton was great. He explained everything that was going on and what the result meant. HOWEVER his staff did not wear masks. The receptionist taking information and insurance cards said she did not wear a mask. She had no mask and no plexiglass screen. The other lady at reception was thankfully behind a glass screen and did not appear to be dealing with patients. Had I not waited 4 weeks for this appointment or had some sort of warning that the office staff did not wear masks ahead of time, I would have chosen an alternative neurologist. I would not recommend because of the lack of COVID precautions.

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. Creepy, disturbing visit with this person. Referred for nerve test by my surgeon. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANY PATIENTS. It started weird and went downhill from there. Political rants and RACIST AND SEXIST COMMENTS as the session went on. A very angry person. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE THERE ARE OTHER MORE QUALIFIED neurologists in the area. Dirty exam table stained with blood droplets. Awful and disgusting!

I have seen Dr. Barton and the same office staff for years. How come people only post complaints. The staff always get me an appointment with in a reasonable amount of days. Dr. Barton is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. He takes his time. At first he tried to rule out all other possible causes. I highly recommend Dr. Barton

Waited 45 minutes. Staff was rude but not as rude as Dr. Barton. Went to him to seek help about numbness in my fingers and he told me go see someone else. Rude and arrogant. 1 star is too much. What a waste of time.

I love Dr. Barton. He has helped me cope with my migraines in a conservative way. I see some grumpy messages about his office staff, but I happen to like them. I think this office provides very down-to-earth, personalized care and I feel very confident in the care I am getting there. I think if you want bells and whistles, you need to go elsewhere, but if you want the best medical care from a wonderful specialist physician, go to Dr. Barton's office.

Very disappointed in this doctor!! My husband has a progressive brain disease and Dr Barton and his office staff were rude and no help at all! This neurologist would not help us find a support group, a specialist in my husband's rare condition, or any information that could help us. NOT ONE OUNCE OF COMPASSION from this doctor!!!!!! His response to our plea for help was that I should go online and find help myself! He walked us out of his office saying we were on our own and "good luck."

absolutely the WORST office staff I have ever encountered. After waiting 2 weeks for a return call from Dr. Barton, I called and was informed that he was out of the office and would not be back till MARCH! I was never called to let me know. Staff claim that the emailed prescriptions for scans to DCA. DCA never got them. The staff response was I can prove it with the confirmation, not let me send it again.....strongly recommend you find a younger doctor with a great staff...

I don't think I've ever had a worse appointment. When you come to a new doctor with recent tests, scans, and labs for them to complain how they need doctors notes ? NONE of my doctors hand out their notes. I pay A LOT for my Aetna PPO plan it's NOT my problem that doctors and insurance companies can't agree. Then to ask me WHY I think I have Neuropathy when a Recognized Doctor prior had done the nerve testing which I provided a copy to this Barton...Geez I just Imagined it!!!Don't bother

Dr. Barton is an excellent neurologist. However, his staff is most unfriendly. I was calling & leaving messages to get an appointment but never got a call back. A family member (orthopedist) recommend Dr. Barton, when I relayed the message regarding the trouble I was having, he called Dr. Barton's office. I received a phone call from Dr. Barton's office pretty much telling me it was my fault & how awkward the woman felt with the MD calling about this issue. Finding a new doctor!
