Dr. Ellerin was very friendly and to the point. He spent time answering questions from myself and my husband. He made me feel comfortable with the treatment plan and the possible side effects.

I can't believe people are judging this doctor purely on bedside manner. Yes he is to the point and very particular, but when you have cancer isn't that what you want. Once under his treatment I found him to be very supportive and interested in all my side effects. He offered ways I could combat them. His nurse, Misty, is a good as they come. My overall experience was about as good as I could expect when someone is blasting you with radiation.

If I could rate a zero, I would. I was referred to Dr. Ellerin by my oncologist for a consultation on radiation treatment after a radical prostatectomy. I was told at the time of the scheduling that I could not have a patient advocate, my wife, with me due to COVID-19. This was strange to me as his office is in the same building with the oncologist which does not have the same restriction. When Dr. Ellerin came into the exam room, I had my wife on the phone and told him she would listen in to hear what he had to say and ask any questions or express concerns about my treatment plan that she might have. I was told by Dr. Ellerin that he does not do remote consults of any kind and that if I did not hang up the phone he would not continue. I told him I guess we were not continuing and walked out of his office. I will never set foot in his office again and would recommend that if you are referred to him to kindly decline his services and ask for another doctor.

I went in for a initial consultation to learn about the Prostate cancer treatments offered at UT Health in Tyler. I was presented with a list of websites to do my own research. It turns out they only offer external beam radiation. Mr. Ellerin is NOT a good listener and has a extremely abrasive and passive aggressive bedside manner. He had difficulty staying on topic....to the point of advising me to be sure to wear no slip socks at home? He kept insisting on doing a manual (finger) Prostate exam. It told him I had a Urologist appointment later in the week and that I would have it done there if it was deemed medically necessary. He kept insisting he would do it during my initial consultation. Needless to say, I left without his “exam”. I will not go back.
