Turned away after booking appointment
At 10 days post COVID positive diagnosis and with no symptoms, I was unceremoniously turned away from Dr. Carl Calica's office by his discourteous staff. At Dr. Calica's direction, if you are honest enough to admit to any COVID positive test, you need to have a full two weeks pass before he will see you. This is counter to most other physicians and the CDC, and there is no indication of this in his online booking process, nor is there in his online check-in process. He and his staff wasted my time and he did not have the courtesy or respect to respond to my email message of the same day to explain his actions or rationale.

I had hernia surgery performed by Dr. Calica in 2013. At the 2nd follow up visit 26 days after initial surgery, I still showed signs of the hernia. I pointed this out to Dr. Calica and I was told by Dr. Calica that the swelling would go down within 3 years. This response was certainly inappropriate and unprofessional and did not address my concern that I still had a hernia.

I was in pain for months, believing that I was just gaining weight. Finally after consistsnt, no relief of pain for two sleepless days I went the the ER at PHC. My care in the ER was above and beyond. More tests through the night I was kept as an out-patient. Thanks to tests and Dr Calica's experiences he diagnosed me with a malfunctioning gallbladder. He performed surgery and one day later I was home. I feel AMAZING. It was the answer to months of pain. Forever grateful! Beth G
