Terrible
At first I was fooled by her friendly demeanor during my first kidney stone. Cut to 2 years later and I've gotten second opinions on her nutritional advice and ability to diagnose correctly. I wound up in the ER in terrible pain with messed up bloodwork and urine labs. She got very hostile and defensive and spent 20 minutes criticizing the ER staff, who were kind and helpful. Her theory is that I just need pelvic rehab for a sagging bladder. She completely ignored my very abnormal blood and urine labs and waved me off, saying 'drink lots of water.' I'm glad I sought second opinions and am no longer following her terrible advice.

Competent, professional, what's not to like
My experience with Dr. Wallner was good. The Burbank Urology Clinic for UCLA Health is a little bit crowded but the staff works hard and is okay. She performed a biopsy for prostate cancer--which was positive. She pointed me to two different options for treatment--surgery or radiation, and identified the UCLA specialists in those areas. I consulted with both-and chose radiation which was quite successful. Dr. Wallner is competent and professional in her dealing with patients. As an aging male I've got some reservations about dealing with a female urologist, but obvious competence and professionalism put those concerns to rest.

wonderful uro doctor and surgeon
Dr Wallner is one of the kindest, gentlest doctors I have ever had and obviously loves what she does. Her staff is also 1st class. I have 2 surgeries with her at UCLA and everyone was fantastic to me. I felt cared for, listened to, and both procedures went without a hitch. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Wallner for uro issues.

Terrible
Caroline is a rude and professional doctor. When she did the vasectomy for my partner she was short with him during the procedure and did not explain anything to him. She had her assistant finish up with him, who not only was snot able questions but did a terrible job explaining aftercare. She also charged us a copay for a follow up email where we simply asked her a question. I have never had a doctor charge a full copay for asking them a question through email. Do not go to her! She's clearly just trying to make money.

Urologist found
I had seen 3 other urologists before Dr. Wallner. Kept putting off a visit due to unpleased visits and results. Dr. Wallner was referred to me and made an appointment. Couldn’t be more pleased from the moment I walked in Dr.’s office. Short waiting time in all areas. Dr. Wallner had test performed and discussed results and offered 3 alternatives. Also suggested the most effective. Explained everything very thoroughly before a TURP chosen. Surgery a 100% success. So grateful. Office staff -in office nurses - surgical team all fantastic. 100% recommended.

I am very upset at the way Dr. Wallner decided to approach my problem. She does not listen to her patients at all. I tried to explain to her how my previous Urologist who unfortunately retired used to treat my condition which was effective and worked for me well, however, she decided to diagnose me with something else and sent me home with all the discomfort and pain I was experiencing with a prescription that I know wouldn’t work for me. She never bother to check me, I had swelling in the pelvic area and much tenderness with a lot of discomfort. She didn’t bother to check and feel my back in case of a kidney stone or perform an ultrasound, NOTHING. She does not care. She is not compassionate at all. She scheduled a cystoscopy for a month later, seriously? Also she took one hour and a half to see me. Another patient in the waiting area had waited for her too long and he ended up rescheduling. I Do Not recommend her. I went for a second opinion.

Can't recommend Dr Wallner enough. She's really good about answering any questions and explains everything really well. I had to do an outpatient surgical procedure at a hospital and felt in VERY good hands. Plus, she's really nice. Her office is also really good about communicating and are all really pleasant. If you need an urologist (and sorry if you do), you'll be in good hands w Dr. Wallner.

I'm very and angry and distraught about how Dr Wallner decided to deal with my prostate issue. She didn't give me any information about alternative treatments for BPH, she just went ahead and proceeded with TURP surgery, which required an overnight stay at a hospital and a painful catheter. She never informed that I could have had a non invasive procedure called UROLIFT. UROLIFT would have spared me the overnight hospital stay, the catheter and, worst of all, the side effects of TURP. I've lost ejaculatory and erectile function, ED medication is to no avail. By comparison, the UROLIFT procedure would have allowed me to preserve both functions. Unfortunately there is no malpractice recourse, doctors are allowed to just go ahead and not inform patients of more beneficial and less invasive procedures.

Terrible. She never rarely returns calls and when she does it’s either too late or not helpful at all. She seems not to care whatsoever but only follow the bare minimum protocol of what she should be doing. She hardly listens to what the patient is saying and often doesn’t recall what you’ve said. She does not take accountability for mistakes or for simply not knowing. She is not thoughtful or inquisitive or truly problem solving. She just wants to do what she’s minimally required to do. Really bad doctor.

I have a history with kidney stones and I had been seeing two other UCLA urologists but I was not happy with their care. I felt Doctor Wallner was more of an understanding doctor and she was able to study my case better. If I needed to be operated on her office and the hospital was close to where I live in Burbank.

Waited an hour in the room and was never seen because “she had someone else waiting in stirrups”. She said I should probably just reschedule. I was in the ICU two weeks ago and came as a referral so you would think she would be more professional. I left my baby in the NICU to make this appointment and was just a waste of time. Would never recommend or return to see her. Awful.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Wallner for a Prostate exam. She asked me a few questions about my family medical history and other medical questions that we already reviewed and diagnosed by my primary Dr I thought these questions to be routine. Prostate exams are 100% covered by my insurance. Instead of billing for a prostate exam she billed me for a general office visit and billed my insurance $550. My advice is if you go to see her for a prostate exam keep your mouth shut.

I came across Dr Wallner by the web while looking for someone compatant to treat kidney/bladder stones. I have recommended her to at least 5 of my family and friends. She diagnosed my problem in 30 min what my local Uro couldn't in three weeks and a lot at tests. She is friendly, kind which is nice but most of all smart and spends adequate time to explain things. Ever felt rushed. Diffenatly 5 out of 5 for her and staff.

Left a message for Dr. Wallner regarding a prescription she had promised to submit. 4 days later I still had no response to the message. Finally called the office and suggested to the staff that they let Dr. Wallner know of my issue since I could not get an email response from her, and I was quite insistent. Later that day I received a message saying that she had now prescribed the medication and that she had earlier forgotten to do so. The billing to Medicare for this visit was $600.

I scheduled a routine visit with Dr. Wallner but I was billed $600+ for a consultation that I never asked for. Dr. Wallner talked to me for less than 30 min but billed insurance for 60 min. Dr. Wallner never contacted me with the results of my urine test. I filed a complaint with UCLA but Dr. Wallner claims that on my first & only visit she prescribed a serious meds for IC syndrome but if that is true, she did so with no diagnostics, no procedure to confirm or no prior medical records. Beware

Dr. Wallner cared for me during a process to have stents put in my kidney ureters before having multiple fibroid tumors removed from my uterus and in an effort to protect my kidneys from damages being caused by the tumors. I must say that while having the stents in wasnt the most pleasant experience in the world, Dr Wallners expertise and impeccable beside manner made the experience so much more tolerable and less nerve wracking. She is amazing and highly recommended!
