In search of…headache relief
Hello Dr Ham,Your name was given to by a “happy”former patient. Are you taking clients? I’m between cluster and migraines. sumatriptan is the only relief. Hoping to try “injections” to stop the stabbing pain above my left eye. Thank you

Shockingly unprofessional
Rude and aggressive. It felt as if she was trying to provoke me. I will never forget the way she looked at me and said “They are going to blow your kidneys.” Then called her nurse in and noted “patient acting strangely” in my chart.

Caring and Understanding
I've seen Dr. Ham every six months for 12 years. She is a very competent Neurologist and caring physician. She listens to my concerns and responds appropriately. It seems the bad reviews are geared more towards administration and do not depict an accurate picture of Dr. Ham's competency.

Dr Ham had been treating my migraines for 4 years. She is the first doctor to have diagnosed my headaches and provides the treatment that has been life changing. She has always been pleasant but tactful to making sure I was taking care of my self in between procedural visits. She answers professionally my questions about thresholds and stress triggers so I can help myself have less pain. Dr Ham is my go to neurologist.

Do not believe the bad reviews!
I had to leave a review because I truly believe they are mistaken on whom they saw for their visits. Even on a bad day I do not think the Dr I saw yesterday could be the same Dr these other reviews are speaking of. Dr Ham was amazing from start to finish. She even came in before the nurse did the work up to help with time. She spent a long time with me and answered every question I had with complete patience and understanding. Educated me on my diagnosis more. Validated each thing I said on how I was feeling. Gave me an encouraging treatment plan as well. I would 100% recommend her to anyone that is struggling with chronic migraines.

Cancels appts
I waited over 3 months for an appt. 3 weeks before my appt, and many horrible headaches later, her staff just called to cancel and offer me an October appt with her, or an August appt with someone else. I will not be using their service and plan to discuss this with everyone I know. This is a horrible way to treat the community.

Dr Ham is fantastic!! I have suffered with migraine and cluster headaches since I was 18 years old and have gone through more neurologists than I can even remember. I have been a patient of Dr. Ham for 2 years and my headaches have improved from 3 or 4 a week to a few times a month and not nearly as long-lasting and severe. I highly recommend her!!

I had to laugh when I read the reviews by patients. I will agree that Dr. Ham is abrupt, but she prescribed migraine medicine for me that has worked very well, no headaches, nothing but gratitude on my part. She scheduled our next appointment two years out, so clearly she knew what she was doing. Abrupt is OK when a physician is that on target!

After being referred to Dr. Ham for an EMG I drove an hour to see her. She walked in the room and asked me why I was there in a very hateful way. I was so shocked that I actually felt interrogated! Finally she said I needed to go back to my pcp to get him to write “better notes”. Needless to say I didn’t go back. I believe this person should not be working with people much less being a doctor. She needs to work in another field.

I have been seeing her for a year and she is my 7th neurologist. She is the only one who was able to find out what was wrong with me and i have never had anyone take so much time to explain complicated stuff so clearly. I finally found a good doctor and will keep driving 2 hours bc she's the best.

Dr. Ham is wonderful! She is caring and professional. I read some of the other reviews and cannot even imagine why these patients would write such things... She spent an incredible amount of time with me to diagnose my migraines and we tried a couple of different methods. I am happy to report after years of suffering I am mostly migraine free. She is personable and I would recommend her and I have! To many people! She is a "Top Doc" in my book!

Dr. Ham seems to be competent and up to date with regard to migraine care. I appreciated the time she took with me. But right off the bat she aggressively questioned me about being on disability, in a way that indicated that she suspected me of malingering and my other doctor of weak ethics.. I was so disturbed by this that I cried in her office, uncharacteristically. She did show humanity at that point. I suppose she thought she was doing her job, but she showed poor judgment.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ham?
Based on my own experience and the experience of other reviewers, Dr. Hamm has a standard MO of being dismissive of patient symptom reports, and then labeling them as having psychiatric issues. She paid little attention to my symptoms & instead asked me if I was seeing a counselor for what she perceived as my hypochondria/making up fake health issues. Eventually, another doctor diagnosed my issue as being viral-related. Dr Hamm was NO help whatsoever with my very real issue & was rude too.
