Bullies that threaten you for going elsewhere
I have almost 2 decades in healthcare, my sister over a decade, and is an NP specializing. We are educated and know the healthcare system very well. Never in all of my years have I ever experienced being threatened by a provider to call DCFS for rescheduling an appointment, but that is what this place did. You either have a concern you call them about or you do not, you NEVER use them to threaten a new parent to see you. Because of this, once the important testing was done (said by the doctor herself) we found a new provider. When cancelling the next appointment the receptionist was very aggressive and we had a hard time but refused to pay these people for a no show. When we found another provider Dr. Longest herself left a message demanding we tell her who our new provider was. It was none of her business, we have a right to pick our own provider. This isn't a fascist country. Plus, she would find out when they sent her a records request. She called DCFS in retaliation. Unbelievable.

Terrible
Horrible. She listened to my symptoms but after a brief exam she told me she did not see anything wrong and that most likely my issues were due to normal vision issues with aging. She recommended I updated my glasses prescription to what she found and when I asked should I need a new prescription in only after 2 months - she said that the differences were slight so not necessary to correct. I filed a complaint with the office after going to an optometrist that specialized in double vision issues and was diagnosed with convergence insufficiency. The office followed up with me and asked for a copy of my records from the optometrist. They had Dr. Longest call to follow-up with me and she was cold and indifferent. She only apologized that I felt like she brushed my concerns off, that was not her intention, and stated she has great relationships with her patients.

Dr. Longest is very passionate about helping her patients and is thorough in her examination and very knowledgeable of her field. I truly appreciate that Dr. Longest takes the time to answer all questions and make sure that her patients feel at ease. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Longest for the past decade and will continue to use her services along as we continue to reside in the State of Illinois.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Longest?
Dr. Longest provided a "comprehensive" exam for exotropia (eyes deviating outward) without assessing eye focusing, teaming, and movement. When I asked, she stated that vision therapy would not help, only prisms (masking symptoms) and surgery were options. Vision therapy alleviated my exotropia as a child for 18 years. I'm going to an otomentrist specializing in developmental/behavioral practice for a second (full) assessment. I am confident that vision therapy will be a better option.
