Dr. Chad Whited is extremely gifted and talented! He is warm, friendly, professional, informative, and knowledgeable. When I first met Dr. Whited, I could not speak. My voice was completely gone. Other doctors turned their backs, saying they could not help. My condition was called Reinke’s Edema, a severe vocal cord swelling that steals your voice and makes it difficult to breathe. It is frightening and debilitating, and I was in trouble! Much to my surprise, Dr. Whited assured me he could help! He did surgery immediately and then continued to carefully monitor my care, and offered suggestions to improve the quality of my voice. I am delighted to say, that three months later, my voice was completely back, and I could breathe normally, speak normally and enjoy life again. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Whited and his wonderful staff for the great care and kindness they showed me. He truly was a miracle worker and I will never forget the wonderful doctor who changed my life!

I saw Dr. Whited for a hoarse voice probably due to some upper esophageal reflux which I have had for a long time. He was friendly, checked out my vocal chords, assured me that all was well. Suggested something for the reflux. It was easy at that time to get an appointment.

No question about it. Dr. Whited is terrific. Dr. Whited excelled in getting me through a procedure on my vocal cards, and in doing an excellent job at the same time . He is just so darned funny and calm that it was easy to relax and just get on with it.

Dr. Whited is a consummate professional while funny and warm at the same time. I have had multiple larynx surgeries (not his fault!) and he always does a great job. He explains things thoroughly and his staff are great. In particular, he has to put a scope up my nose and down my throat each time and other ENTs have made me gag and struggle. I barely notice when he does it. I couldn't recommend Dr. Whited more highly.

I am so happy to have Dr. Whited as my physician! He is extremely knowledgeable as well as compassionate! Which is what I needed during a very scary health crisis. He did not rush through my visit, discussed a treatment plan, and took the time to answer my questions. I could not ask for a more caring physician!

I must confess that I was a bit sad when my long-term ENT left Austin. I hopped around, until a nurse called to tell me “run, don’t walk to Dr. Whited.” Her doctor had seen my scans, was mortified of the procedure that was scheduled to be performed and said Dr. Whited is THE ONE to go to. He squeezed me in the next day and said, “Did you eat today? We need to have surgery immediately.” I had no idea that I had ISS and of the severity of it. He was kind to allow me the opportunity to try minimally invasive and conservative procedures following the initial surgery. Unfortunately I am one of those ‘super special’ patients and more surgery was needed. This time it was more invasive with also sinus surgery. I’ve had 6 sinus surgeries prior and they were all rough. The recovery was long, the procedures were intense, and the aftermath was always daunting. I woke up from surgery, with Dr. Whited, pleasantly surprised. He is THE skilled surgeon to see. #oxygenforeveryone

Dr. Whited is a voice specialist, and he is the first doctor I've seen who was able to treat a chronic cough as more than simply a symptom of some other malady. Although I was quite reluctant to undertake parts of the treatment he suggested, which included medications for numerous contributors to the cough (rather than just one "cause"), I was persuaded to give it a try. The results after the first 6 weeks were nothing short of amazing. The cough has diminished by about 95%. All that remains is some chest congestion, which is proving more stubborn than the other contributors. We will continue to work with the medications for a while longer, to slowly reduce the doses. I am very optimistic, for the first time in 3 years!

We are so lucky to have this physician with his expertise in Austin. For 20 years I had a paralyzed vocal cord which he surgically repaired in a relatively simple procedure. I am not sure anyone else in Austin does this procedure. Not only did he give me back my voice. He is so easy and pleasant to work with. Super-conscientious, gentle, kind, thorough, explanatory, takes all the time a patient needs to explain and to reassure. He is the epitome of the perfect, ideal doctor! 5+ stars!
