Certainly not my first visit to an orthopaedic clinic, but clearly one of my best experiences. As a former athlete, I've sustained injuries to just about every area of my body - especially my legs and knees. Fortunately, I still have all of my original equipment despite my best efforts to require otherwise! That's primarily due to God's sustaining grace and the amazing doctors and surgeons He's placed in my life. While there is a general hesitancy and pause among many regarding healthcare in America today, it's refreshing to experience an organization and surgeon who genuinely listens to their patient to provide the best possible treatment and outcome. In my specific case, it would have been easy to have recommended the quick and easy replacement. However, Dr. Cox was far more interested in treating the immediate issue and enhancing my quality of life. Awesome surgeon and person!

Incredible Doctor
I am scheduled for a reverse shoulder replacement. Over the years I have talked with 3 other doctors in reference to my shoulder, the pain, my lack of movement . I felt like the other 2 Doctors were good doctors. To me, a doctor though needs to know not just the surgical aspect but be able to communicate WITH the patient. I am very comfortable with Dr. cox. I feel like I can ask him anything that helps me to understand and be more at ease. Dr. Cox is personable and a knowledgeable Doctor. After my surgery , I will give another review but I have no doubt that Dr. Cox can help my shoulder.

Dr Cox did surgery on my knee to repair the meniscus. The results are excellent and now 3 months later I’m walking around like nothing happened and pain free. He is very likable and easy to talk with and takes the time to address all questions and concerns.

Dr Cox performed a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for me. I was 61 years old, which is considered “too young” for this procedure, for several valid reasons. However, after experiencing a massive rotator cuff tear, with all adjoining muscles being detached and, in some cases, completely atrophied, and having endured severe pain and weakness for several years, when I decided to have it repaired, he agreed. I have found him to be an excellent physician, and easy to get along with. A+

For my first visit I was left in an exam room for an hour. After 40 minutes I went into the hallway where several nurses were standing around gabbing. I asked how much longer it would be. They told me I was next...40 minutes after my appointment time I would hope so. 20 minutes later Cox finally appeared. He was arrogant and rude and not apologetic at all. I explained that communication would have been nice. He has zero bedside manner. Surgery day even worse. I regret going with Cox and not TOA.

Worst office staff, James lost our personal medical file, he said he was leaving it on Dr. Cox's desk. No one knows where it is, where it went, no suggestions other than we will order them again... well these papers/DVD you can't reorder easily, they are from military hospital. Jill never returns your calls, over 20 messages. Don't go.

Dr. Cox removed a piece of broken bone from my husband's knee in Feb 2014. He is absolutely wonderful! His bedside manner is second to none! He thoroughly explained every aspect of the surgery and the post-op care. We couldn't be more pleased with the care we rec'd from Dr. Cox and his staff at the outpatient Ortho surgery clinic near Vandy. I would vehemently recommend Dr. Cox to ANYONE in need of an Orthopedic surgeon! Ty to Dr. Cox and his staff that helped us literally each step of the way!
