Dr. Charles Flake, MD

Walked away laughing when I asked for pain meds during labor; the order was delayed while he took a long long break. I was allowed to labor over 24 hours and tore myself as I pushed when I was finally being wheeled down for a c-section because there was blood every where. He basically was non-existent when I needed him. The nurses struggled to do their best and were very caring, but they required orders from MD. It was only years later with Dr. Agress (much more caring doc) that all the post birth trauma was repaired, which I happen to suffer with for years. He never acknowledged it. Right after the birth, I thought I remembered wrong so I requested records that proved a huge gap of care. I had nightmares about my delivery experience for five years after a -5 star rating wouldn’t be accurate enough. Hopefully time has mellowed this man, and taught him how to have a heart and be professional towards his patients as that certainly wasn’t his younger self (1987).

Dr. Flake is a very intelligent, confident and professional physician. He listens and hears you as a person not just a patient. I was referred to Dr. Flake from my first child's pediatrician. I had a high risk delivery with my first child. My uterous did not contract. I was told to have another child or full hysterectomy. I chose another child and that's when I interviewed, met and chose Dr. Charles Flake. He delivered my healthy baby boy in 2001! The best doctor and surgeon in WA!

I loved Dr. Flake and I wish he could open us his practice again on Mercer Island or even another location.
