Dr. Charles Schaffer, MD

Dr Schaffer explains everything thoroughly and does not perform unnecessary procedures or tests. He operated on both my husband and me for Cataracts without any problems whatsoever. Surgery went smoothly and I was very happy with the aftercare. He seems genuinely concerned about his patients and their happiness. I highly recommend him to anyone needing eyecare.

I had been in the care of Dr Schaffer for 2 years due to increased ocular pressure and some retinal issues. In my last visit with Dr Schaffer I complained about some tenderness in my eye as well as some blurred central vision. I asked if I needed to see a specialist and was told "no", and that the blurriness was probably due to a "floater". The problem persisted over the next several days and I called for another appointment. Since Dr Schaffer was not available, I saw Dr Frank who after exam quickly determined the cause of both issues and referred me to a retinal specialist to address the issue with the retina as well as medication to address the infection. While Dr Schaffer has wonderful patient interaction, I am appalled that he did not identify and address my problem.

Excellent ophthalmologist. Professional techs and office team as well. I have complete trust that my eyes are in good hands.

I have been a patient of Dr Schaffer's for 8 yrs and find him to be an exceptional eye doctor who provides first class eye care. The support team he has in place are all highly involved in patient care and deliver the ultimate in compassion and professionalism. Dr Schaffer is the best, your eyes are safe in his hands.

I have had some serious eye problems and surgeries, so what I expect from an Opthalmologist is the experience to identify a problem, the skill to treat the problem, the chairside manner to articulate the cause & effect and treatment of the problem, and most of all just be a nice regular guy that can empathize with the patient. I have found all this in Dr. Schaffer. He may seem kind of abrupt at times but he is a busy guy and can be difficult to book. An eye doc that everyone wants to see tell

Dr. Schaffer was punctual, pleasant and caring. He addressed my issues and I left satisfied.

I had a sudden eye problem. Called my doctor who said she wouldsee me in a couple weeks. I called Dr.Schaffer's office and found he was just returning from a vacation. His nurse set up an appointment the next morning. Dr Schaffer diagnosised a stroke and he wwas very helpful in ordering tests and explaining the results. My husband and I have had cataracts removed as well. Dr. Schaffer is a very kind, and caring doctor.

Dr. Schaffer is a true professional, he is patient and has an outstanding bed side manner. He is truly dedicated to his work. He saw the problem answered all questions, but ensured I understood time was critical to saving my eye! If it was up to staff (office manager in Sun C.), I wouldn’t have been seen. Fortunately, Dr. Schaffer heard the commotion. He imedtly brought me back and contacted the Retinal Docs, made me an URGENT appt. which saved my eye. Dr. S has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

Dr. Schaffer is a great doctor who is very kind and thorough. However, I have had two incidents with staff that makes me believe from what friends say about their ophthalmologistx, that I could have a great doctor and a caring staff all in one office. Hopefully, the person who runs the office will figure out there is a serious problem of caring for the patients from his scheduler and staff. I hope I am not the only one who has complained about the problem.

Dr Schaffer and his staff have been very accommodating when it comes to both scheduling and patient care. He listens well and is genuinely concerned about his patients. I had cataract surgery on both eyes and my vision is better than I was a teenager. I can't thank Dr. Schaffer and his staff enough, they exceeded my expectations.

Be careful. office is an administrative mess. Anthem office is a 'feeder' office to get you to drive to Sun City.

The entire practice is top notch and well run. The staff is friendly and courteous. Dr. Schaffer is very professional, patient and kind. He seems truly dedicated to his work. His bedside manner is outstanding. He patiently took the time to answer all questions and concerns I had and did not rush through the exam. The treatment outcome was excellent. I would highly recommend this physician.
