Dr Upadhyaya operated on my back. He left the job unfinished and sewed me up. I had to have the job redone by a different surgeon.

Took his time to explain my condition and answer any questions I had about surgery and post-surgical recovery. He recommended I try everything I could- PT etc. prior to surgery but said I would know when it was time. Did not seem to be rushing me towards surgery which I appreciated knowing he is a surgeon. I feel confident that he is the right person when I decide to move forward with the surgery.

Poor patient care – Mar 31, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Upadhyaya?
Dr. Upadhyaya is very professional and explains procedures and processes in manners easily understood. I trust his judgment and wouldn't trade anything for the peace of mind given as a result of his approach. His staff is top-notched! Ashley is one of the nurses and I respect her so much for leading me to this doctor. She is my Florence Nightengale.

Start by finding a different neurosurgeon. He will drag you along for months and make you go through unnecessary tests. Not to mention all the vacations he goes on while leaving his patients waiting in pain.

Patient in pain in MO – Jul 23, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Upadhyaya?
He would not prescribe a pain med for my spinal stenosis even though my physical therapist requested it because he had not performed any surgery on me. I was in severe pain. It took 3 days for his office to get back with my pt who had called his office 3 times. Why couldn’t his office tell my pt this on the first day? He said to contact my primary physician who had referred me to him. I suffered three days of intense pain because of this. He told me to return in 2 weeks. Won’t happen.

Very conservative approach to my vertebrae fracture and was very sensitive to my pain issues. He answered all of my questions truthfully and honestly. He did not blow smoke or make any promises, just medical probabilities of possible outcomes with various methods of repair.
