Dr. Daruwala is an incompetent gastroenterologist with minimal knowledge and resourcefulness about GERD. I’ve seen him for more the 4 years, I had 4-5 endoscopies, Bravo test for acid reflux and several other tests, and he never was able to diagnose what I had. Him and his office even interfered when I went to a gastro surgeon looking for a second opinion and a possible procedure to fix the problem. They made the surgeon not call me back by telling him that there was nothing surgical. When I went back to Dr Daruwala and asked for another endoscopy, he found out he got it all wrong. Now I find myself with an advanced state (Barrett’s) and I’m following up with another surgeon for a procedure. I recommend you avoid this Dr or you’ll end up with a worse problem.

First time I met Dr. Daruwala I was very nervous about an issue I was having and he stayed late at the office to explain to me what he felt was going on and I left feeling relieved and much better informed (and his diagnosis was accurate). I have since had a few standard procedures over the years with him and feel confident that I am in good hands. I have found the staff at Hunterdon Gastoenterology to be responsive and courteous.

Completely incorrect diagnosis and very difficult to speak to. After an initial consult, you can only speak to his staff. Avoid this doctor.

Very poor communicator, very challenging to get any information. He does not seem to have the patient's best interests at heart when making decisions; it's more about liability for an incorrect decision than listening or actually trying to help alleviate symptoms.
