Dr. Christine Liaw, MD

My husband just had a procedure with Dr. Laiw for a very difficult kidney stone. Though a second procedure is needed to resolve the issues, she has been professional, informative, knowledgeable with great expertise. She follows through, makes herself available for questions and concerns. She communicates well. Draws pictures to explain complex issues so that we may better understand procedures and issues. We are very happy with Dr Laiw.

I can relate to the cold and dismissive comment. I came here recently with an issue - I spent more time with the nurse. When she walked in she already decided that the pain I have been having is not related to anything that she could deal with. I have a history with urological issues and now need to look for another urologist who can actually help.

My mom has seen Dr. Liaw twice now. She has interstitial cystitis and is in constant pain . Dr. Liaw was dismissive and verbatim told my mom she could only help her if she had a prostate. It is confusing as to why she did not refer my mom elsewhere if she was unfamiliar with her condition. She refused to consider labs my mom had done by a separate medical facility which clearly showed a UTI, insisted on doing her own tests first, further delaying treatment. Days later, she called in an antibiotic my mom is allergic to. Her overall demeanor was dismissive with little empathy displayed. Would not recommend unless you “have a prostate”.

She was very kind and sympathetic and conducted a thorough review of my existing conditions. She was very quick to restore my pharmaceutical prescriptions that could not be renewed after my prior doctor left her clinical practice. She was also very quick to set up additional imaging tests needed to monitor my conditions. I am very pleased to continue my ongoing urological treatments with her and I am very impressed by her credentials and relationship with the prestigious Mayo Clinic.
