Yesterday, my kids were playing and one of them fell and hit their eye on my coffee table. He was not having a significant behavioral reaction to the fall (not screaming, crying, or vomiting) but I was concerned with how deep it looked, so I took him to the PM Pediatrics on Route 22 in Springfield, instead of an ER. The doctor on staff, Dr. Clara Lee, was unwilling to give any significant patient education and was insulted by my inquiry of alternative treatments plans for my child’s injury. The nurse that initially cleaned my child’s cut stated “yep, this is deep, it will require several stitches” Several minutes later Dr. Lee (I want to be clear that she never introduced herself, I had to go to my patient portal to find her name) came in and said “glue will be faster.” For my child, I have all of the time in the world; I want the best course of treatment for my 20 month old, not the fastest. When I inquired about stitches vs. glue for closing his wound and the pros and cons for each,

Unprofessional bedside manner. I was cut off multiple times when trying to ask questions about my daughter's condition and was spoken to in a disrespectful manner. She was rough when examining my child, leaving my two year old frightened and clinging to me. She abruptly left the room and when I tried to say goodbye she just looked at me and turned her back and left. My husband and I were shocked. We had waited an hour to see her and we're treated horribly. I communicated my experience to the office but the doctor never bothered to call or explain her actions. I had seen her before and she was completely different so I was stunned by her behavior! She may have had an off day but I can never bring my child back to her. Especially if she is unable to be professional when she is in a bad mood. Again I am completely shocked. I've never encountered such rudeness and disregard in a doctor. I truly hope she never treats another patient the way she treated me and my child.

Great communication skills. She treats our 3 kids for various illnesses. She never rushed us to see the next patient. Most pediatricians are so overworked that they just have 5 minutes to talk and want u out for the next person to come in. Not with Dr. Lee. She even took extra time once to explain how to prevent a recurrence of something by using FOOD! Instead of prescribing medicine! How smart-- her suggestion worked. She's a mom too. If she could treat adults, I would pick her for me.
