Although I agree with some of the reviews about the long wait time, it's absolutely worth it. Dr. Carson is an exceptional doctor - very kind, understanding & patient. He really wants to help you & listens to your problems. I would highly recommend Dr. Carson. He's one in a million.

For High-Risk patients with Covid-19, monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy can make a huge difference and usually will stop a hospital admission and save a patient's life. The federal government provided Oklahoma with the mAb medications. Some hospitals began providing the therapy, but only to patients from "system" physicians. There wasn't any place for a non-affiliated physician to refer a qualified patient for this life-saving therapy. In stepped Dr. Carson. He recognized the importance of the therapy to the community. He wanted to serve his community. He stopped expansion plans and converted his building to be able to manage positive patients needing infusions. He trained and expanded staff. He took any qualified patients referred by any physician. During the peak of Covid-19 in Nov/Dec, when Oklahoma needed it the most, he was providing more infusions than any other provider. He and his staff made a huge difference when needed the most and undoubtedly saved many lives.

Visiting his clinic is like visiting a friends office. Everyone is upbeat, smiling and very efficient. Their attitude is direct result of Dr. Carsons personality and mindset. All are open to any question or suggestion. A visit to this clinic is a surprisingly enjoyed time.

Dr. Carson is a genuinely compassionate man. He listens attentively and considers patient input when making decisions regarding their care. He stays current on cutting edge treatments. He does not dismiss off-label uses of medications and does not discourage patients' desires to try alternative therapies (with his guidance, of course). Dr. Carson always coordinates with other specialists to ensure quality continuity of care. I know I am more than just a number to Dr. Carson. HE CARES.

I met Dr Carson and PA Shawna, back in 2018. Shawna listened & seemed to be interested at first but Dr Carson didn’t. He invaded my personal space & basically told me I was too young to have so many problems. He glanced at my paperwork & said he thought I’d “get over this”. He never really touched me or checked anything. Just said “let’s just say you have....”like he was guessing. I felt blown off & unimportant. I still don’t have a real diagnosis despite asking still. I wait an hour+ each time

I was not at all comfortable with his invasion of my personal space. Unless he is examining me, arm's length would be better than 10" from my face. I've been seeing his PA Sheril Matthews for several years, and not totally satisfied with her. I will request to see a different provider. I'm not positive that a definitive diagnosis has been achieved, but treatment would probably be the same anyway. I'm still having very painful flairs, and still need surgeries to repair the damage from disease.

I saw Dr Carson since 2001. He is very caring, knowledgeable and listens. The problems started when I could no longer see Dr Carson, but saw his PA Sherril. I was not at all impressed with her. Now I am trying another rheumatologist.. I would give Dr Carson 5 Stars, but Sherril maybe 1 Star.

HE SAVED ME FROM WHEELCHAIR!! I’ve been seeing Dr. Carson since 2002. At 22,very sick I’d been visiting DRs for 2 yrs. I have VERY aggressive RA, Lupus, plus other autoimmune disease issues that had placed me in danger of losing mobility by age 30. Dr. Carson’s diagnosis, honesty & genuine care helped me to get RX’s & treatment. Today at 37 I’m still fully mobile-occasionally use a cane for balance. He always knows his patients by face & name. He’s created a legacy at Oklahoma Arthritis Center.

I felt like this was the first doctor and PA to hear me and truly understand how I felt! Eric, my PA for Dr Carson, is my lifeline. I have SLE and PsA, tested positive for other AI like RA and scleroderma. They helped me see a lifelong historical picture that explained so much. I love the care that I feel is genuine empathy. Love the patient portal! It's so awesome to pull up my medical records on my iPhone, and it's also super easy to use.

I was looking forward to scheduling an appointment with Dr. Carson after he came highly recommended by a few people in the medical field. I was told that appointments were being scheduled six months out and to call back on a certain date. Then when I called back I was told they did not have a calendar for six months out and to call back. I called back again and was told that even though they accepted my insurance I would need to pay a $200.00 fee ahead of time to hold my appointment spot!
