Dr. Damian Pestana, MD

I've been seen by Dr. Pestana a few times for GI issues, and he is very thorough with his explanations and will answer any questions you have without making you feel inadequate with your questions. The doctor, including his staff, were all very kind, compassionate, and empathetic. Some people complained about the wait time in the lobby to see him, but my thought on that is, if you're the patient in the room with the doctor, do you want him to rush his explanations with you just so he can get to the next patient? I didn't think so. Bring a book, or these days, a phone. Otherwise, find another doctor. He's also one of the few doctors who said they would return a patient's call and actually called them back. I was sad to find out after trying to make a follow up appointment last August, just to find out that he was no longer practicing in Oroville. He'll be missed.

The wait time in his office was over 90 minutes. He was more than 2 hours late for my hospital procedure. I overheard nurses asking each other where he was, and apparently no one could contact him. He showed up late with no explanation. It was NOT another medical emergency. His office rescheduled my follow-up appointment for over 2 months, then I had to wait over an hour at the appointment. This is the worst possible care you could imagine. Do NOT use this doctor. See a true professional.
