My case was directed to Dr. Adkins via the Veterans Administration office of Community Care in November 2022. I was diagnosed with a large pituitary tumor and Dr. Adkins performed the surgery to remove it in early December. The surgery was uneventful, and things were looking good, but within soon after vision problems began building which required further review. The actual medical side of the service was good, but the administration follow-up was a flat failure. Dr. Adkins refused to follow-up with my disability insurance provider and my Long Term Disability benefits were terminated because he would not coordinate with the insurance to provide documentation they had requested. After the LTD was terminated I had to file for unemployment as I continue to have medical issues. That too was rejected because he refused to complete and submit the Virginia Employment Commission 10 line doctors note needed to verify my ongoing medical condition. Find another Doctor.

Sciatic. Nerve issue
Dr. Admins is an excellent neurosurgeon. He is conservative and non-invasive with his procedures. During the office visit he explained everything at a level that a nonmedical person could understand. He is very pleasant and has a great personality

Dr. Adkins is consummately excellent.
Dr. Adkins is quoted online to have said to the effect, the greatest reward he receives as a neurosurgeon is to see improvement in a patient through his treatment. No nobler impetus could motivate a doctor than the desire to heal and relieve suffering. He certainly listened well to me and strove to accomodate my wishes for treatment, even after others refused an invasive procedure. To Dr. Adkins, the possibility of restoring my quality of life and ending my pain meant far more. He is an attentive listener. He advocates for the patient's needs. He is a masterful surgeon. He is a stellar human being. I wish Dr. Adkins the utmost success. I pray regularly for him and for all of the patients who encounter him that, through his phenomenal skills, he can vanquish as much needless human suffering as possible. May he and his patients often receive the most gratifying reward of suffering solved.

This doc is the best around he will fight for u. He didn't give up when my insurance turn me down 2 times 3rd was the charm he wrote a letter and made it happen. Him and his staff never gave up they are family. And he made sure that surgery was the right thing to do even the doc he sent me to for a test said 99% of doc would have not sent me for this test and if I didn't get this test they would haven't fused enough this together because the mri xrays cat scans didn't show it. he is a angel....
