Very rude and condescending
Dr Dawson was rude, condescending, and not polite. I was so humiliated with his comments as I tried to explain my issue. Said follow up in a year. I will not go back to him.

Dr. Dawson & Magruder Eye Institute didn't care
I was a patient of the Magruder Eye Institute for over 10 years, had blind trust in my doctor until March of 2024. I was diagnosed with a cornea problem. Dr. Beneke referred me to the institute cornea Specialist Dr. Daniel Dawson. He prescribed some drops and after a few months and two follow ups with Dr. Dawson with no improvement, on my visit with him on March 20, 2024 Dr, Dawson determined I needed a transplant, said the scheduler will call you to set the date. Before I could even react to the news, he was out the door. Thinking back, the other two times, he never took the time to talk to me, explain anything. I asked the nurse and she said they will call me in a few days. After two days, I called back and talk to Gloria, asked questions she couldn't answer but promised someone would call me back in a few days. After no call, I left two voice messages. TO THIS DAY, over 2 MONTHS LATER, NO ONE called me back, ever. Needles to say, thankfully I changed doctors. God was in control!

Completely dismissed my dads questions, over talked, didn’t listen was abrupt and curt. Worse bedside manner I’ve ever witnessed! Very sad bc he is very intelligent and has the best office support staff , nurses and lab techs! We don’t have options due to my dad’s unique difficulties so we are stuck. My dad left feeling unheard and dismissed by the Dr.

Very friendly staff initiated my w/u and then Dr. Dawson came in and listened, examined, and explained my eye condition. It was a great eye exam and care from the whole UF eye team.

Gentle bedside manner like talk to a neighbor or friend. If he is concerned about something outside his realm of expertise he researches the matter and speaks with his colleagues. Great attitude.

You would never regret this visit! I have not seen this good in many years. Please read review of my many years seeing another in this area of eyes. Best choice I made in years.

I had the worst experience of my life with this doctor. He has no bedside manner and was extremely rude and impatient. I was not at all impressed and I will go blind before I see this doctor again!
