I was inpatient at SMH Venice for 10 days on the neurology floor. Dr. Khera was the first neurologist I saw out of 3 during my hospital stay. His bedside manner was distant, he appeared uninterested in my case and each visit felt more rushed than the last. He failed to order any testing for the first four days & I felt he was very dismissive of my symptoms. The subsequent neurologists quickly acted on medication and further testing that resulted in a diagnosis.

Condescending Attitude
I am a 75 year old woman and I found his comments and tone of his conversation with me to be very condescending. He cut me off from explaining the issue and seemed more interested in controlling the conversation instead of hearing my concerns. He stuck with a list of questions or a script and whenever I would want to interject something important, he would dismiss me and tell me “No, he didn’t need that information.” I would not go back to him.

He cut me off from explaining the issue and seemed more interested in controlling the conversation instead of solving the problem. He didn't have a resolution to my issue nor did he explore options to attempt to resolve it. I will not see him again.

Memory and dementia issues
I'm a 78 year old woman with concerns about memory and dementia. He had a list of questions he wanted to ask. If I interrupted to mention something I just thought of, he would say "let's stay with one thing at a time." So, naturally, as I was driving home, I thought of several important pieces of information that I didn't think to bring up after he was finished with his questions. I saw him a second time and decided to find another neurologist.

Very happy with Dr. Khera
Both my husband and I have visited this doctor. We are both very happy with him, his staff and the office. He is an amazingly kind, compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable doctor. He spent a considerable amount of time with each of us and was very careful to get all the facts before recommending how to go forward. He is difficult to get an appointment with but that is true of most doctors today. I was able to get a cancellation within about a week of being put on the list. He is worth the wait.

Neurology Specialist
I waited months for this appointment. I was not disappointed. Dr Khera was p r ompt and thorough. He did all the standard neurology tests, ordered an MRI of my brain, an EMG of my nerves and muscles and appropriate blood work. He explained everything. When all the results are in we will meet again to decide next steps. Thank you Dr. Khera.

I don’t trust him.
Claims to see visible improvements, after 6 month follow up visit, when there are none. I’m deliberately not going into detail here, but pay close attention, document what he says visit to visit. You may very well find yourself looking for another Neurologist, for a second opinion.

Would Not Recommend Personally
I felt very uncomfortable that Dr. Davender would not shake my hand or look me in the eyes during my appointment. I changed to another doctor at the practice, who is much more friendly and personal. I then received much more information regarding my condition and available treatment options, compared to Dr. Davender's rushed explanations.

My situation was not an urgent one and I was able to schedule an appointment within 2 weeks. Dr. Khera spent a good deal of time with me and did a very thorough exam. He went over the CT and MRI and explained what they were looking for. He gave me good advice on how to deal with my symptoms and explained that they would subside in time. It is not necessary for a return appointment. I would go to Dr. Khera again and would recommend him to friends and family.
