Dr. David Carbonell, MD

Doesn’t care about the well being of his patients. Shouldn’t be in the ER helping sick and or hurt individuals. If you’re in the ER your probably having a bad day which Dr. Carbonell will make worse instead of better. Do yourself a favor and avoid this Dr.

I saw Dr. Charbonell after an elbow injury. He did not preform adequate exam, nor did he check range of motion. Because he saw nothing on the X-Ray even though I described extreme pain he said no further treatment or evaluation was needed. Two months later still not able to sleep through the night for pain, and unable to get an appointment with my own doctor I saw another doctor in the practice who referred me to have an MRI which after waiting for availability, showed a partially torn tendon. Because of his inattention - from the time of injury to when I can actually see an orthopedic specialist is 4 months. 4 months of not being able to sleep through the night, 4 months of impaired function at work. When people say health care is substandard in Lake County this is what they are talking about.

MD David Carbonell ruined my positive thought of sutter clinics and hospitals on 5-3-24 at 5:20. I was told by my OBGYN to go to the hospital for a repeat ultrasound as she could not see anything with her machine. She believed her ultrasound machine just may not be good enough and wanted a second opinion, which is why she sent me to the ER to have them re-check. She called the ER in front of me and gave them the run down of what I would be there for. Once arrived to the hospital, the nurse was sweet and got the information she needed, absolutely no complaints on her. But when David Carbonell came in the room, the first thing he says is 'so you wnat anything for the pain for this miscarriage?' I said I wasn't in pain yet and explained why I was there. He stated he absolutely will not do a ultrasound as my OBGYN 'confirmed' that I miscarried. I have a long story but not enough room. He could have killed my baby had I listen to him and took the medication to speed up the 'MISCARRIAGE'

My husband who is a stroke patient presented to the ER in tears with severe anxiety and insomnia. He was told by Dr. Carbonell that he didn’t belong there, he didn’t look like he was in crisis and that the ER treats broken bones not mental health. He was not able to help my husband and we were referred to mental health only to be told to go back to the ER. Thankfully we saw a different doctor upon return and were provided care, compassion and resolution.

Very knowledgeable, very human, willing to listen and explain. Wish he had a private practice in the area!
