Dr. David Lilienthal, MD

Lilienthal is dismissive of patient complaints/self reported symptoms. His bedside manner does not exist, to put it simply. He is unprofessional as well — turning all conversations towards his political beliefs, and wasting appointment time with comments on political/pop culture. He does not adhere to current best practices in medicine. Constant comments about the state of medicine today & his beliefs about the pandemic/politics that have 0 relevance to the reason for the appt. It felt like he saw appointments as an opportunity to rant with a captive audience… Frankly, I and my family - now FORMER patients of his - have received subpar care as his patients, and while the PA’s in his practice are lovely, cannot trust him with our health.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lilienthal's practice for nearly 7 years. I say his practice because I no longer see him personally, relying on his excellent PA, Sarah Huber instead. The three times I did see Lilienthal I found him to be impatient and dismissive. I also had to listen to his opinions on the terrible state of medical care in the United States, the many ways liberals are destroying the fabric of our country, and other truly conservative opinions. Had he bothered to ask if I agreed I may have felt more like I was in a conversation and not a GOP rant. My guess is that most of his higher-ranked reviews are from patients who share his political views and are impressed with his arrogant medical thoughts. I am moving to Oakland shortly and will be shopping for a new PCP. I will miss Sarah, but not her boss.

Lacks of bedside manner. Expressed how much he didn’t like medicine anymore. Very rude and fast pace. If you ask him a question he is annoyed that you asked a question. Go to someone else. Other office staff was pleasant minus the nurse, she was rude too.

Very poor bedside manner and extremely rude.... the staff other than that dr was very nice

I have been a patient of Dr. Lilienthals for 29 years. I would never consider changing doctors.

Dr. Lilienthal and his colleagues and staff are always compassionate and thorough. I know that I will be taken care of and treated with dignity when I visit his practice.

Very knowledgeable, very caring. Same for the Physician Assistants he chooses and trains. Extremely pleased with Dr. Lilienthal. I am comfortable discussing any heath concerns with Dr. Lilienthal or his PAs.

Simply the best doctor. The staff is great as well.
