Dr. Nathan did an amazing job. I had cervical spinal fusion 11 years ago, and I still feel amazing. The pain. I felt prior to surgery has not returned.

Three strikes and he's out!
In fall of 2019, Dr, Nathan performed surgery to fuse my entire lumbar spine. A few days later, he went back in to remove half the screws he initially installed because I was in "intractable pain." A couple months later, he opened me up a third time to remove a spacer between L4/L5 that had slid up against the spinal cord and was causing exquisite pain. Being left with considerable pain and nerve damage, I finally wised up and saw an orthopedic surgeon at the U of U. He performed my fourth lumbar surgery in mid-2022. He re-did everything Dr. Nathan had done. My pain was gone the moment I came out of the anesthesia. These surgical issues aside, I found Dr. Nathan to be relatively unconcerned with meeting appointments and seemingly more interested in his recreation at Snowbird and Lake Mead. Considering all the problems I've had under his care, I find it strange that he hasn't tried to follow up with me...

The day of my surgery I woke up with horrific pain in both hips that I still have to this date. At my first appointment after surgery I told him about the severe pain in my hips. He ordered an MRI. My wife was with me at my second appointment. When we started to talk I mentioned something about a previous surgery on my neck. I had been rear-ended by a semi traveling seventy miles per hour. He said and I quote (You had neck surgery) he didn't look at my history that was given to him and also in IHC's system. He told me I must have something wrong with my hip. My right hip had been replaced after my accident. Dr. Nathan proceeded to tell me I must like narcotics. Turns out he had busted off a pedicle screw that was shown on x-ray and a cat scan two months later. He had removed hardware from my healthy fusion. I was given the bag of hardware he removed before I left the hospital. One bolt in the bag was broken, I still have them. Only one side of my L2-L3 was fused. Im screwed.

I have been seeing Dr Nathan for over a year now. I had a couple complications with my surgery that were outside of his control. I am now making a successful recovery and could not be happier with Dr. Nathan. Dr Nathan went out of his way to call me after hours and answer any of the questions I had 2 weeks prior to the surgery.

Dr. Nathan is very professional and knowledgeable. He is straight forward and tells it like it is. You get good, honest advice and solutions. He worked overtime several hours to make sure my operation went well and my problems would be resolved. The constant pain I had was gone immediately after surgery. I am recovering well with no complications. I am very satisfied with my results and would recommend Dr. Nathan to anyone with back or sciatic nerve pain.
